who does the electric company pay their bill too?

The amount of electricity the electric company itself uses is an expense to their own business so they don't really pay it to themselves, it's an operating expense.

I suppose the tax man pays for the electric that the electric company uses as it will be written off as no profit is made. That is part of their running costs.

I would assume that the electric company produces its own electricity so pays no one. Otherwise, you may as well ask something like if a man has cows and sells milk, who does he pay for his milk? Kind of a rhetorical question....

It's a write off but I am sure the government gets their cut.
