I have lived in my apartment in Riverside California for almost two years now and have never had a problem with noise. My complex was recently sold and all of a sudden the gardners are on my porch with leaf blowers at 7 & 8 am at least once a week! They have also started resurfacing the streets, redoing the swimming pools and putting new roofs on the carports...the noise is increadable! Aside from moving (which I may do since on top of all of this they have hiked my rent over $100), are there any laws prohibiting the use to leaf blowers (and the like) before a specific time in the morning and/or after a specific time at night? Please help?!!

I looking for the awning like entrace, that has a door. You see this in restaurants and bars/clubs. It is a tarp like material and some of them have plastic windows on the sides. Its almost like an outdoor hall way, some have heaters in them to keep the guests warm while waiting in line.

I have been told that is one of the complaints about the ionic breeze, but I have no idea what that means. Someone checking the air in our house (we thought we had mold) told us to put it in the bathroom because we have mold there, but nowhere else in the house. He also said that we shouldn't leave it running all the time because it will ionize the air too much.

I prefer it made of recycled plastic, but need it to be heavy enough that it won't be stolen, so maybe metal or cement for the legs/sides? Any help at all with recommendations would be appreciated!

we shut it off when we are not home, so it is not constantly running. When we turn it on it comes out so forcefully. I dont know if that causes it to burn more? any suggestions would be helpful....

I am buying a home in California and was disappointed to learn that my appraisal for my lender came in exactly at the negotiated sales price of the home. I later learned that he appraiser was provided the sales price of the home. I refuse to believe that it is merely a coincidence that the appraisal is exactly the same as the sales price. I believe this a huge bias for an appraiser that prevents them from being objective and deriving a truly independent valuation. I also suspect that they "did the math backwords" in getting to their appraisal amount.

When I questioned the appraiser she was emphatic that having the sales price is essential and in fact in California, as of 1 Jan 07, all appraisers are required to review the sales contract.

Any suggestions? Is there a way to get a good appraisal done w/out the bias of having the sales price known?
At first I thought the appraiser was stating the home was worth at least the appraised amount-but was told she came to exact amt.

I have so much accumulated, but don't know where to start. I'm afraid of tossing something I could get money for, and this is important, as my husband died of cancer leaving me with a mortgage, health care bills and 2 youngsters. When I sold some very nice furniture at a general auction I really got "taken" . Where do I find best prices for things? list on ebay one at a time? (ug!)
A couple of specific questions:
1. Are old National Geographics worth anythiing, or should I donate/recycle. they go back to the 60's.
2. Record albums. They were my husbands, hundreds of them. I saved about 200, and got about .25 cents each for about 200. they don't want the rest . should I just toss them?
3. old atari games, unused (we had a consession yrs ago)
4. big disk movies, a system that competed w/video yrs ago. Good stuff: last seasons skiis used once. Waterford crystal. Beleek China. boxes and boxes of colored glass, china, nice knick nacks.I'm overwhelmed, please guide me!
