I have not used this particular brand name but we sell products with the same active ingredients and they are very effective at killing spiders. Usually I have found it starts to lose its punch after about three weeks. But even so, if you have killed the spiders in the basement it might take months for them to reappear.

By the way, follow the instructions--it is a pesticide.
