why keep the cat in when you get there?...let it out it wont stray, it needs to get used to its surrounding and all you are doing is confusing it ( litter tray etc).we moved and our cat ran outside and lived on the garden for a few days, shes fine now and loves it.

Mark all of your boxes.( Pretty standard really) Keep essentials ie make up and stuff in your hand bag. Check out all the meter readings as soon as you get there. Write them down so you can give them to your utilities companies when you sort things out. Also make a note of the readings before you leave the place you are moving from. This will stop them charging you if the next people in the property fail to take readings.

Take a box around with you containing tea making stuff/kettle cups and no-effort snacks, as well as loo roll, bin bags, scissors and any other random things you need to not be hunting through boxes for.
Put your bed up and make it first, so that when you have had enough, you can just fall into it!
Put 3 year olds room together alone if possible, but get them to help you put toys etc away so that they settle and accept their new surroundings. Good luck!

Yes, pack yourself a "first night survival kit." Think basics for the first night: sheets, toothbrush (and other toiletries if you want), something you can microwave for dinner (like those Campbell's soups that you can drink from the can), a change of clothes, something to entertain the little one.
Keep this kit with you--not with the movers. Your first night, you will probably be exhausted, and will just want to flop into bed. Make sure you can!
Additionally, if you still can, label boxes thoroughly with contents and the name of the room. This will allow friends or movers to locate the boxes in their intended rooms, keeping you from moving them several times yourself.
In the kitchen, put post-it notes on cabinet doors with intended contents. This will allow friends to help you unpack. In fact, this method will work in any room--put a post-it note on the linen closet shelves, laundry room cupboards, clothes closets. You can always go back and adjust, but having contents unpacked and in place can be a tremendous help, and if you have friends or family helping, they will be anxious to provide you with "real" help.

If your cat drinks tap water from your old house, fill a plastic jug with it and take it to your new house. That way the cat will at least have familiar water while it gets accustomed to the new situation. Seriously, it helps a lot.

Put labels on all the boxes, big bolds broad marker...
If you have to take anything apart, put the screws etc for it in polythene bag and secure to whatever where it will be out of the way.
Make sure you have a few light bulbs handy....

I really have by no skill in my view been in this position the position I bypass abode yet I really have followed cats from rescue shelters and that i anticipate it should be an identical adventure as that for the cat. One suggestion is that you deliver the cat to a cattery for the time once you're at your aunts and then get it decrease back once you bypass into your everlasting abode. yet another answer is to make confident that the cat continues to be in a unmarried room (ideally your room) once you stay at your aunts. this can mean that he's remote from the noise of the more youthful ones and he has you to convenience him. do no longer enable me him out of your aunts appartment as he may wander away extra certainly as he doesnt realize his surroundings. in my view i'd bypass for the second one decision and only pamper him as a lot as accessible by cuddling him extra, procuring his common foodstuff, procuring new toys, procuring him some effective treats like cat nip. do only your perfect to convenience him and that i'm confident he will be advantageous. see you later as he's at the same time with his vendors and he knows he's loved he receives over the rigidity once you bypass into your abode. don't be to stressful if he seems slightly quiet or scared. Sorry its see you later yet in case you want extra suggestion upload me as a pal and get in touch with me. wish I helped x

Ditto, we just moved house. iammoving.com from Royal Mail is a good website. You can notify all suppliers (from banks to water companies) of your new address and moving date.
