it is an American Standard, Fredom 80, single stage. for the home. about 5 yrs. old
first the problem: the flame would die out in the middle of the cycle then it won't relight. some times the flame stays on for hours (becuase when it lights we try to get all we can before we have to turn it off). i replaced the Flame Sensor(thermal couple?) furnace worked for rest of day but still having problems.once in a while the ignitor will be glowing and the furnace won't light off the get.
ALSO: somtimes i get an error code, for- open tempreture limit circuit.

thanx for any help or suggestions!

It has two handle sizes 3 1/2 and 4 1/2.
I have looked at various websites that have a handle I like in one of these sizes, but not one to match the other size. Any advice on where I can go or how to solve this problem?

The "ceiling" cracked and WATER dripped through it a short time ago. I have looked through the YELLOW PAGES, asked other people and looked through "advice columns," but to no avail. Please, please help me with this most "serious matter."

It is a timed sound and it sounds like a grinding or rattling. It doesn't have an ice machine. The sound just recently started. and is really irritating and seems to be located at the back of the fridge at the top. I'm associating it with the thermostat but it doesn't always come on in regular intravels so really unsure.

A few seconds later the blower comes on. Pilot light is still lit. There is 24 volts across the orange and blue wires. 9 volts across the blue and red wires. 12 volts across the orange and red wires. Do I need a new gas valve or maybe the intermittent pilot igniter control? or something else.

Imagine your girlfriend comes over and hangs out, until she looks around and sees dust all over the place. "Oh my God, this is ugly!" and leaves you. Does having a dusty home make a bad impression on your friends and family? We have quite a dusty house, have one cat, and we cant seem to find a good air purifier (or something like that). And we cant really find a way to clean the air filter (built in for the AC). It's not "dangeroulsy dusty" but it's pretty dusty. Can you help with any of the questions. It'll be much appreciated.

These cushions are amde of artificial cotton stuffed into cloth. My sofa makes a good bed :) but it kind uncomfortable to sit. I want to make it justa little bit firmer to give a good hold while sitting and not sink too deep. Thanks.

I have a wire going to a lamp post in my yard. It has worked fine for the past 4 years, but has been there much longer. Just now, it stopped working, no power at light. I checked the wire and the power stopped about 20 feet from the junction box going to light. I then tried to repair it by splicing in new wire and found that some of the wire was corroded and wet. The wire was just buried underground, not in a pipe or anything, what is the proper way to do it when I replace it. I dont even know if it is outside wiring that was used... Thanks

We have a propane furnace. It won't kick on unless we manually reset it. Often it needs to be reset several times before the blower finally starts up.
I have changed the batteries in the thermostat and the thermostat itself seems to be working fine. The glow plug works, propane is getting to the furnace.
It just won't turn on unless we reset it.

Does anyone know what this could mean? Is there a DIY solution to this problem?

I have spent four week trying to get the service department to fix their dishwasher. Only to have tohave them come back because they got the wrong part. while this was happening the dorr of the fridge fell off. If you go to sear THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS. But these appliances are only 18 month old. What was your experience with Sears?

I bought a house that already had snow melt cables on the roof, but I don't know the proper way to use them. I thought I could get away with having them on intermitently, but I still got huge ice dams. Do I have to leave them on basically 24/7 during the winter.
