Sal*uk is right, when the police and the keyholder turn up, ask the keyholder in front of the police, why it goes off for such a long time, probably rats that set it off too. (2 legged or 4 legged variety lol)

Police - but not 999. They should have a keyholders list for the business.

EDIT : and alarms should only go off for 20 minutes max in most cases.

Call the police department's non-emergency number. They will find the owner. If the owner has too many false alarms, he will have to pay a fine.

ring the police and say you think there may be a burglary taking place, they will then contact whoever owns the place to come and shut the alarm off.

if the alarm keeps going off and police aren't interested in dealing with it can you pop over there and get me some building materials to finish off my extension?

you should first contact the owner or the property. explain the problem.. if they don't want to comply.. call the local police.. in most cities, after police recieve so many false alarms they start charging the customer.. this usually solves the problem..
