Turn off the hot water supply valve under the sink. Disconnect the tubing at the top of the valve with a wrench. Hold a rag over the valve and turn the valve on and off two or three times. This should clear any mineral deposits that are clogging it. While it is apart, open the hot faucet handle, hold a container under the tubing and turn on the cold water. On some faucets, this will backflow through the hot tubing and clear any clogs. Reassemble and see if it makes a difference. Good luck.
Note: It could also be a problem in the faucet "O" rings (if it is a single handle faucet) or the cartridge is bad on the hot side).

As mentioned historical boilers will probably move on with no end in sight. However, all boilers, like autos, want steady upkeep to preserve them in well operating order. If you fail to keep your boiler it'll shorten it is lifestyles and it'll will let you down. The remark from the plumber is right. Most boiler upkeep persons will attempt to promote you a brand new boiler because it represents a providence for them. All you must do is with politeness forget about the earnings pitch and demand on upkeep or a fix. British Gas Services (BGS) keep the boilers in my homes, a few that are 25 years historical. The engineer will probably use a word corresponding to 'on borrowed time' however at the same time spares are nonetheless to be had they must do any vital maintenance. The upshot is if you're taking out a upkeep agreement with BGS the possibilities are you are going to in no way be with out warmth or scorching water till the boiler is so historical they cannot get spares.

if the tap is harder to turn than usual, then it might just be needing a washer,it could also be an airlock.try opening all the hw taps at once to try and get the air out,if that doesnt work then you need to connect a small piece of hose between the hot and cold spouts in the kichen, open the hot one, then open cold tap to push the air out the open vent.
