I have spent four week trying to get the service department to fix their dishwasher. Only to have tohave them come back because they got the wrong part. while this was happening the dorr of the fridge fell off. If you go to sear THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS. But these appliances are only 18 month old. What was your experience with Sears?

I did read the warrenty before I purchased the product. the sales personnel stated no problem. They are standing behind the warrenty of the product and giving me my money back. The problem is they gave me a product that simply fell apart after 18 months. It seems if your appliances are good from Sears they are very good. If they need repair and are under warrenty the service department is so bad you are **** out of luck. If they are good they are very good if they are bad they are very bad.

I am recently married and(2 years). My parents and in-laws purchased a full new kitchen from sears for me. In the last month I have had to have service on the stove, the dishwasher and the fridge. I have had to take six days of of work and they are still not done. Even the toaster caught on fire and and had to be replaced after were six months married. Both sets of parents have tried to intervne with Sears and even filed a complaint with the B.b.b. Still they could not get good service

I am glad that some of the other answers had good experiences. Because I would not wish my experience on anybody. I too, purchased a Kenmore dishwasher. After 12 months it leaked. They sent a guy. who ordered a part that came in the mail and he came a week latter. He discovered he ordered the wrong part that came in the mail and he came a week latter to discover something else was wrong. So he ordered a part that came in the mail and he came a week latter.... This went on for 8 weeks. They would not honor the lemon part of the contract. So I got my money back form the extended warranty and purchased a really good dishwasher form an appliance company close tot the house.

Sears isn't all they're cracked up to be. There's a large number of great appliances out there. Tell Sears to K.Y.B. and buy tour next ones from someone else.

I've bought our frig, dishwasher, clothes washer and dryer there and haven't had any problems. I'm sad to hear that you are having these difficulties. Did you have them move it in to your house for you? If so, that might be part of the problem. We went into the store and delivered the appliances ourselves so we wouldn't be taking any chances. I know all of the appliance movers just don't care. They will be as rough as they want. I don't know if that was part of the problem or not. I really hope that they would fix this stuff for you. If they don't stand behind their products, that would turn away my business too!

Sears only sells brand names, they cannot be responsible for all of them but, they should stand behind them of course. I have always bought Sears with appliances and shop tools. Of course they have brands that make you deal with them, for size, shape etc.
I have never in all my years had to go to extremes to resolve a problem like this though. You get what you pay for.
