I have a Kenmore 88752 Top Load Stacked Washer/Dryer. The drum is not balanced and it makes noise when it spins. I checked the level and it seems to be OK. Is there a problem with drum bearing? Is it better to buy a new unit instead of fixing it? Thx...

I've heard it could be a venting problem. I removed the clean out cap to main linejust to see if it would flush better and toilet flushed fine. The vent line runs a span of 15' or so under house. It does have sag in middle of pipe, could water get trapped in there causing less air flow? Should there be more than one vent pipe?

we just bought a new leaf blower in the medium/high price range, about $150, not sure the brand. the second day of using it it just wouldn't start up. we tried all the troubleshooting and prepping steps and even put fresh gasoline/oil mix in and the same thing. the only thing i can think of is that a little but of gasoline dripped out when it was still out and some steam came up but i wouldn't think that would totally ruin everything. anyone know what i can do or how to know if we can get it fixed. there's warranty but the receipt wasnt saved :(

I checked the jameshardie website too see what kind of nails I should use on the vertical hardiplank that I am about to put up, but the website did not say what kind of nails should be used for the vertical hardiplank.
It says what kind of nails should be used for the hardiplank lapsiding, but not for the vertical siding. Can somebody please tell me what kind of nails or screws I should use?

My dryer just stopped working. I moved into my appartment 2 months ago and it started to take like two or three dries per load to dry stuff. Then yesterday it just went out. It still turns just no heat. I figure its the heating coils or element or whatever. Its a whirlepool dryer. I dont know where to go to try to fix it. Do i need a whole new one? Would i be able to buy the replacement part and fix it myself??? Any help would be appreciated.

We bought a house about 2 years ago with a septic tank and I know nothing about them.
It was just emptied when we bought the house. There are 2 of us living here.
Occasionally I put Rid-X in the toilet.
What would happen if it got too full? Would that do any damage like having to dig up my yard?
Aprox. how often should they be emptied?

My wife and I just bought a 40 year old house with a fireplace. The fireplace was just swept professionally before we moved in. I lit a fire the other day. For the first hour, it was great. Afterward when I added another log, smoke started billowing out and into my living room. The flue was open as was the damper. I also heated the inside of the chimney before I lit the fire. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why the smoke is coming into the house?

I have a 7yr. old Hoover washer/drier which has just started to make an awful racket on the spin cycle, it sound like boots are inside the machine. It was moved recently when a plumber was connecting mains through to bathroom. Can anyone advise me what to do to rectify. Money short due to Christmas so don't want to call in anyone to help.

I changed every light in my house to energy star flourescent bulb lighting. However that was back in Oct and my light bill is STILL the same and there has been no change.I work so we're not home that much during the day and not many (maybe two) lights are kept on during the day.Yes I did replace all the bulbs with the newer lights however as claims have been made about more cost effective I am not seeing any reduction in light bills. In fact at this rate I may as well go back to the regular light bulbs. And no my house is not old it should be reflective of engery efficent .Any idea's ?

Our furnace will start running, after turning it off and turning it on, but won't stay on. It starts and does heat but it is only staying on for a few minutes and then it shuts off. We installed a new thermostat a couple of years ago (RiteTemp) that is programmable and we have done a hard reset. I have taken the thermostat off the wall to see if it would also reset itself but that didn't work. My hunch is that it is the thermostat but I am open to other possibilities. Any thoughts? Ideas?
