we just bought a new leaf blower in the medium/high price range, about $150, not sure the brand. the second day of using it it just wouldn't start up. we tried all the troubleshooting and prepping steps and even put fresh gasoline/oil mix in and the same thing. the only thing i can think of is that a little but of gasoline dripped out when it was still out and some steam came up but i wouldn't think that would totally ruin everything. anyone know what i can do or how to know if we can get it fixed. there's warranty but the receipt wasnt saved :(

Take it back to the store where you purchased it. If it is less than 30 days old they can look up your purchase information, and determine the warranty. Then send it for repair. Don't start repairing it yourself, as that will positively void any chance of free repair!

Okay... here is the most common problem I have had with our leaf-blower:

There is a small wire that connects to the metal frame that holds the plastic gas tank to the machine.. it often pulls loose. I'm not sure WHAT it is, but the blower just won't start without it connected. It's NOT the spark-plug wire, but that's another thing to check.

GOOD LUCK

its a high possibility that its just flooded esp if you've pulled on it for more than three times in choke position, u will know this by a couple of things u have seen fuel coming out of muffler and yr plug is wet, if so u need to purge the crankcase of fuel, quickest way is if u have an air compressor, take plug out and blow plug dry, with switch off, pull starter cord until u c top of piston then take air nozzle and blow threw sp plug hole and do that for about 30 seconds, the air pushing piston up and down will purge crankcase, or u take out the plug and go get a new one, and with plug out, switch off, hold blower upside down and pull on cord for about 2 to 3 min and put in new plug and with out choke ,squeezing trigger, pull start it, good luck!
