I checked the jameshardie website too see what kind of nails I should use on the vertical hardiplank that I am about to put up, but the website did not say what kind of nails should be used for the vertical hardiplank.
It says what kind of nails should be used for the hardiplank lapsiding, but not for the vertical siding. Can somebody please tell me what kind of nails or screws I should use?

use the same type as recommended for the horizontal . should be exterior type fastener.most likely 7 or 8 penny galvanized. generally when nailing exterior siding you want to use a headed nail, so that its harder for contraction and exspansion to work it loose.

HardiPlank has its own line of fasteners for each use. Check with your supplier (where you purchased the plank) for the ones recommended for your specific application
