I got handed down a Toro Recycler push mower, which is probably 10-12 years old. I would like to use it, but I can't keep it running. After priming it 3-4 times and pulling a couple of times, it starts and then quickly dies. My dad said this is probably a sign that the carburetor needs to be cleaned? Does that sound right? If so, how can I take the carburetor off and clean it?

Every Friday morning, I pour about 6 gallons of hot boiling water down my bathroom sink with the theory that the scalding water should clear the pipes whatever is making this sink drain so slowly. Be it hair, grease, and other stuff.

What I noticed every single time I do this is the "gulping" or "blub blub" sound occurs just seconds after all the boiling water I pour down there is gone... then for the next 20 minutes or so I -still- hear that sound now and then - even if I did nothing else to the sink (ie turn on the water). Sounds like there's some air pocket down or there.

Is that sound good or bad?

I'm redoing my bathtub and surrounding wall remodel and i'm planning to put of panel in the ceiling over the tub and block the heater air outlet (heater outlet is also in the ceiling over the tub). The reason I want to block the heater outlet is due to rust problem since outlet soaks up lot of the hot moisture during shower. Bathroom remodel place wants me to block the outlet before they put the ceiling panel because the hot air coming down could lossen the adhesive used to glue panel to the ceiling. Can any one help me how to do this x tks

I was told to always set my air conditioner fan to "on" and "cool" for the best air circulation. Right now I have the air conditioner fan setting set to "on" and the temp setting set to "cool" as a few people have told me to try it out. Its seems to be working for the hotter rooms upstairs but will this drive my electric bill up or damage the blower motor if it runs 24/7? I just replaced that motor and that’s how I heard of this method.
4 different people told me they do this during the summer and I've never heard of doing that. I always set mine in the past to "auto" and "cool". Will I save money by leaving it on all the time? What’s the best?

I recenly bought a microwave online and when I opened the box I noticed that the styrofoam that was next to the microwave left a sticky residue behind on the microwave maybe due to heat. But I was wondering what is the best method to remove this residue without damaging the microwave?

i recently discovered a long term leak under my bath and found the floor and wall to be soaked. It has been like it for months and became apparent because of a damp smell in the house on the ground floor. I have fixed the leak and have a domestic dehumidifier as bought from B&Q for @£70 running. It has been going for about four days and is pulling about 6 litres a day out of the building. How much would it be pulling out if the house were dry, surely not this much? But is there that much water still in the wall and the concrete floor after four days of 24 hour use?

My front door is not opening! The knob just keeps turning & turning until I've practically screqed the knob off. I don't want to pay to get it fixed, so does anyone know what the problem might be & how I could fix it? My home is very old- built in 1927- so that be part of the issue. The knob is glass and looks old too (I don't know if it's original).

My grandparents bought a Craftsman lawnmower around nine months ago. As usual, they bought the extended warranty so that the mower should be covered 'til 2009! Upon questioning, every representative of Sears said that everything is covered other than air filters, spark plugs, & blades.

However, when I was cutting my normal, grassy yard.. the lawn mower started vibrating a little harder than normal. I didn't think much of it, so I continued mowing for about another minute longer. But all of a sudden, the carburetor fell off... it didn't come unbolted, but the corner of the frame just snapped.

How does the thing just starts vibrating when I'm more than halfway through *nothing* but grass, breaking the metal frame apart. That's not right. So I take it to Sears, where they ship it off for almost two weeks to tell me I bent the blade, which caused the thin metal to snap. After asking my grandpa for $200 & he refused, they canceled the warranty & shipped it back.

What should I do?

My front porch is made with pressure-treated wood. It is stained a dark brown color. One day I realized there was a section on one piece of wood that looked "bubbly" and when I stepped on it, it felt sticky, almost like pine pitch. What could be causing this? This bubbly, sticky area only appears on one piece of wood. The porch is about 10' x 20' in size. Also, it is in direct sunlight all day long if that makes a difference. Thanks.
