Having a problem with my water, in the middle of a shower the water slowly started losing pressure then finally stopped. After about 15-20 min. the water came back on but was spitting like there was air in the lines. That lasted for a short while ( few hours) then everything was fine for about 2 days. At that point we had a repeat episode ( water stopping during shower) now I am getting no water from the kitchen sink and limited water from the bathroom. Any advice would be appreciated. Oh, I do not know how deep our well is, but do know it is the second well dug on this property in the last 40 years.

The water has nowhere to go but down and it does, just really really slow! There is probably so much hair down there. The best part is its a shower for the upper body and a bath for the feet! LOL please help!

I moved here a few months ago, and everything seemed fine. I have city water. I have noticed that my laundry (even with dryer sheets) comes out smelling a little like ammonia. I have also noticed that the area around homes that have well water has the same distinct odor. The water in my master bath sink has the same odor... sort of like ammonia. When you wash your hands or face, they will have that smell. Any ideas what it could be and what I might be able to do to remedy it? Sometimes the odor is more pungent than others. Any idea, greatly appreciated.

This is a commercial place and the nite time employee's are opening the doors/windows but keeping the air conditioners on. Does this increase our costs or does it just allow fresh air to circulate with the air that is being cooled inside by the conditioners. The doors and windows are only on 1 side of the building..The air conditioners are up too high for the staff to deal with. Any suggestions?

I had some petrol left for my lawnmower from last year. I filled the tank with fresh petrol (about 8 litre), obviously contaminating whole content of my tank. The lawnmower had difficulty in starting. When it started it ran OK but it started kicking back when I started the engine again. I suspect the trouble is with the oxidized petrol I have in the lawnmower and the tank. I do not want to waste this petrol. Can I use it in my car? Are car engines more tolerant than small petrol engines? May be the problem lies somewhere else and not in the "bad petrol". Perhaps someone out there knows?

The lock on my bedroom door is supposed to keep people out, right? It has a little tab you turn to lock it on the inside, but on the outside part of the knob, there is a little slit, not designed for a key, just a little area, where u can stick virtually anything around the same size, a comb, a ruler, even a fingernail, and u can turn it from the outside to unlock it.

Does anyone know of anything that i can do so that people cant open from the outside? it kinda destroys the point of having it, because no one in my house knocks

Hi People,

I am from West yorkshire, Uk

I am studying to become an electrician, and I have a building regulations exam on monday. I am doing some mock exam papers and there are questions about regulations e.g regulation 7 (materials and workmanship) or regulation 3 (building work). what I want to know is how many of these regulations are there and where can I see what they are??

I have the green electricians guide to the building regs book but it does not have this info in there or I can't find it.

Also what does it mean when it says schedule 1 or 2, my undertanding of this is;
part A-P is schedule 1 if this is true what is schedule 2 or is there any more schedules and where can I get this information.

I would be very grateful if anyone can tell me as I am really strugling.

Thanks in advance

We just moved into a house that we are renting for $900 a month. Over labor day weekend the main sewage pipe calapsed. Problem being my husband and I went downstairs to clean up the basement floor, and we and our son are now quite sick. Not only that, but this pipe has been broken for a week now. Our landlord is playing dumb with us, and seems like he is stalling to get it replaced.

We are upset that we are paying such a high amount, and nothing is getting fixed. Our whole front yard will be dug up from the house to the main road to replace the pipe. We can not flush any toilet paper, as it will clog the remaining opening in the pipe. Very quick showers, and can't use the dishwasher, and have to wash the dishes by hand, quickly so the pipe won't over flow.

We already placed the $900 for this month, but we don't feel we should have to pay that full amount for this coming month, as the ammentities we are paying for are being slashed.

Also we live in Michigan.

We have fixed up the bathroom really nice at our place, but we need to fix the smell of cat pee under the sink before we move! I would hate to fix up the bathroom just to leave it smelling like cat pee!! We live in a mobile home from the 70's and would like to know if we could replace the whole sink area, or if we could somehow get rid of the cat pee smell some other way. Please help us with some other ideas besides bleach and vinegar. We need to fix our place up to sell it, and we don't want it to look like crap. Thanks so much!!!

Part of our house flooded almost 3 weeks ago. We got 14" inches of rain in 2 hours. Anyway, we cleaned one room out, carpets and all. Left the carpet in the other becasue that is what the landlord wanted. And washed the walls with bleach water. We threw away most of the furniture that got wet. Yet the rooms still stink really bad. The room with carpet was steamed cleaned. I think it didn;t do a bit of good to do that. It is just rank down in those rooms. Any ideas to get the landlord to help out here?

I just discovered a puddle of water in front of my freezer. I opened it, and all of my food has defrosted. The ice in the ice box has melted and everything has condensation on it and I'm afraid my food will spoil if this keeps happening. Here are some details:

the freezer has been making short but frequent buzzing noises.
my fridge is an Amana® Side-By-Side Refrigerator
ASD2620HRW

My parents just increased the coldness of the freezer from 4 to 8 to see if it will work. Is my freezer not working at all or is the temperature messed up?

Do you know what to do about damaged plywood floors? Can he cut out damaged areas or does he need to replace the whole floor? Or is it possible to just go over the original plywood with new 1/2" plywood? Orkin says he can just go over it. And do the homeowners have to worry about it if they want to sell the house in a couple of years? Do they have to disclose the fact that they had termites?
