I am seriously interested in an investment property. I toured it yesterday and it is great except in the basement(dirt). The steel poles that support the underside are decayed and loose at the bottom. There is a jack contraption attached to one corner. Is this a dangerous situation and very costly to fix?

These are older stains now! I've tried all sorts of remedies on them. He started to do it when he was younger when i went out to work so when i'd get home they had already stained the carpet. Luckily he had stopped it now but although baking soda has sort of got rid of the smell i cant yet rid of the yellow stains on the carpet, i've tried everything. Please can someone help? Thanks.

I have a gas built in double oven and hob.

The electric ignition (to the lower oven) and clock/timer seem to have ceased working.

The ignition is still working in the grill and hob.

Who can I call out to fix this problem? Would a electrian deal with a gas appliance? Or is there specialist people who deal with electic bits on gas appliances?

Please help I desperately need this fixing.

I purchased a new home and the pipes in the bathrooms and kitchen seem to be excessive. I mean, it just appears that there is too much pipes under the sink areas. Like maybe who ever installed them, didn't know exactly what they were doing. My water works fine in all the rooms, but there's just not much room in any of my cabinets becaue of so many pipes!

if you called him to your house to clear a drain, and he couldn't do the job? He spent 1-1/2 hours here, went through every available cleanout, and couldn't do the job. He refused to go through the vent on the roof, which was the most direct route into the main line, "for insurance reasons". He collected a $200 check from my wife while I was at work, for his time. I'd be interested to hear some opinions on this.

Hi,
The previous owners had a thin metal L-shaped key to open the bedroom doors. I just can't get it to work. Help, please! They're kwikset locks that you pinch and turn a quarter turn on the one side, and have a small hole on the other side.
FYI- there is no "flat part" to the key. I just can't seem to find the right place to put that long end of the key. Help! I've played around for a full hour now and have no luck finding the exact notch thing (and by the way, how does a round end of a piece of metal (that is like a coat hanger) fit into a "notch", which I assume is rectangular?

Thanks so much for anything!!

I've complained to my landlord who has sent out a plumber a couple of times. Each time they claim they fixed it--but I get home and it's still the same!

It clogs at least once a day. It feels like I spend more time in the bathroom plunging the toilet, than enjoying the rest of my apartment! I usually just plunge the heck out of it, but tonight it's not working. Is there anything else I can try?

What amount of noise is one expected to tolerate in an apartment? My loud neighbor keeps saying I'm being unreasonable, but I don't think so. Thoughts?

Are you supposed to throw all of the big leftovers in the trachcan and just rinse your plate into the disposal part of the sink...or is it built for you to put ALL leftovers from meals into it? For instance, my daughter had a PB&J sandwich that was quartered. She maybe had 1/2. I let the disposal have the other half. Should I be putting stuff like that into the trashcan? I am afraid I have been over exerting the disposal...please let me know what you know. THANKS

It's flicked down and won't go back up.

No sockets working now, but the socket trip switch is fine.

Unplugged everything but still won't go up.

We are new homeowners and I am trying to understand how our central air works. We have a brand new unit and thermostat. It is set at 78. Why does the temp in the house go up to 80? It has been running all day. Is this normal? It has been very hot here the past few weeks.....does this have any affect on it? Help me understand..... :)

I have a 5 year old house and soon after the builders warranty expired the ceiling under my baywindow started leaking. That was 4 years ago, I have called about 20 different handymen and roofing/Siding companies, and nobody could find the actual leak, or where it was leaking from. I have used about 4 different handymen/companies and about $800.00 to fix that same leak but no luck. The leak only happens when we have very heavy rain, or high wind with rain. I live in Buford, Georgia area. Can someone help with suggestions.
