Central air unit is only 1 yr old, just had it charged and worked for 5 days. Today it was blowing warm air out of vents and the thick copper pipe leading to condenser outside of house was covered in ice. I shut it off. I read that it could be low charge or dirty filter, which filter? The filter on return vent is brand new, is there another filter in the air handler that I need to check? Really dont want to call service people out and get charged $88/hr if I can solve problem. Thanks

It makes this "tsshhhhhhh" sound for like 3 seconds, about once every hour.

Additional detail: it also has a barely detectable trickling all the time. I think it's trying to refill itself maybe?

Other than that, it works perfectly fine. No leaks or anything. Do I tighten some valve or something to get it to stop, or is this normal?

service." I never hear anything about duct cleaning these days. About nine years ago, I had my AC unit replaced, and while it was disconnected from the tubing, I looked inside. I saw absolutely nothing that needed an expensive cleaning! Was the "duct cleaning" thing just scam? Is it really necessary? If so, why is it not advertised any more?

i just found out my neighbor is stealing electricity and we both share the same electric pole it has my meter on one side and his on the other side my question is my average electric bill is 171.00 a month but this month it is 426.00 dollars we have a center ac unit but we put a window unit in but we only use it like 1 week out of the month so is it possible that i am getting the bill for the electricity he is using? Because i really don't think that the window unit is pulling that much electricity.

We have a 2 story house(2500 sft and 1000 sft basement)in Missouri. Basement is too cold even after we closed all the vents completely. Main floor is not bad, But the upstairs where the bedrooms are its too hot. If we need the booster fans in the vents upstairs, whom do we contact? And any estimate on how much the repair people may charge? Thanks for the help.

Is it normal for a toilet to flush very slow, to almost not at all on hot humid days? I've just recently took notice to this. I thought using flushable wipes may be the culprit, but never seem to have problems in the winter months. The roof vent isn't blocked, I've already checked that. Hmm...

When I turn the key on my Craftsman riding mower, there's no sound, nothing happens. It was running ok earlier. It was hard to start, but then ran fine until I got it stuck and had to stop it to get it out of the hole.

I live in a small split-level. We have an A/C system, but the basement and lower floor are always a lot colder than the main level and the top level where the bedrooms are. The thermostat is next to the bathroom on the top floor, where it's the warmest. How can I get the bedroom level cool and keep the lower floors from being freezing cold? Preferably without spending a lot of money??
