I accidentally used a wood floor cleaning product manufactured by Orange Glo that was a polish as well. It has left a stain on my pergo flooring. I have purchased and tried other laminate floor cleaners and nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

What should I do with it? My roommate a bunch of them outside on our patio, but he's not in town. Also, if I wanted to throw it away, how should I do so? Can I put it in a regular trash bag if the bottle is full?

I bought a new GE washing machine in January of 2007 and it now needs MAJOR repairs 6 months later. GE is sending a repair person to "patch it up" this week, but declines to replace the faulty machine if a "fix" will do the job instead.

I dont think its fair (or lawful) to sell a broken machine (for $500) and not replace it if a MAJOR repair is needed within 6 months of purchase.

So who is the CEO for this rip-off company?

I'm letting my painting project soak in Thinner b/c I messed up on it---after painstakingly hand-sanding and priming my car's door handles, I did my first coat and then went back outside only to find that my door handle got blown over and stuck to the newspaper beneath.....so I tried spraying a second coat to fix this blemish thinking that it was dry enough. RESULT: I caused that smooth surface to become wrinkled and very tacky feeling. Now I'm back to square one and trying to remove the two layers of mess. :(

I have replace the heating element in my daughters water heater for the third time in the last 4 months. It is obviously corroded and shorted out but this last time the water was black and the element had a black tar looking substance all over it. Any ideas on what is causing this. I know that the heating element should last more than a month at at a time. Any suggetions would be appreciated !!

We are painting the bedrooms.
Bedroom 1 had red paint. We primed it. Then put one coat of taupe semi gloss. Looks good.
Bedroom 2 had light aqua. painted it with white. Then taupe semi gloss. Both coats show streaks. Will one more coat of taupe help? Is it the way we are painting? Is there a best method to paint?

thanks for your time.

A friend gave this vacuum cleaner to me and the belt broke but I cannot figure out where the belt is? I removed the front off the vacuum and turned the front knob to Belt Off before I removed it. Also I removed the bottom plate from the front of the vacuum piece and removed the brush roll but I still cannot figure out where this belt goes and how to install my new one. Does anyone know about this? Thank you.

I have a two year old entry door that appears to be sagging. There is about 1/4" difference in the gap at the top. It is sagging down away from the hinges. The problem is that it is getting difficult to close.

Previously I adjusted the striker plate down, but it is still difficult to latch the door.

The frame appears to be plumb. Can I install some shims on the bottom hinge? If so, what side of the hinge should I put them (door panel side, or frame side)?

I have sidelites installed, so don't know how I would even adjust the frame itself. Since it's fiberglass, I don't think that planing would work (and would still leave the uneven gap at the top).

Thanks!

I own a 4 -5 year old push style Craftsman lawn mower. The other day when trying to start it the entire ripcord pulled completely out. I called my local mower repair shop and they said it's going to cost me $45 to 55 bucks to repair.

Is this something I can do myself?

I cannot get my fingers behind the mirrors to pry them loose. I have tried using a screwdriver to create leverage but it dented the wall. I then tried using a knife to loosin the mounting tape but the mirror broke. Any ideas?

I moved into an older condo about a year ago (built in the 80's); The condo is in great shape, however I have noticed that there are foul smells blowing out of the a.c. vents. The smell is intermittent, sometimes very strong smoke and others it's a terrible rotted smell, that is so disgusting it makes me gag. I had the entire upstairs A.C. unit replaced (b/c it was faulty, not b/c of the smell). The smell continues, and now when the a.c. blows the smell filters through both the upstairs and downstairs. I do not have the money to get the ducts cleaned out, and from what I've read people who have done that still have lingering smells. I have tried different filters, filter fresh odor control, etc., and the smell remains. I do not know what the smell is, or how I can get rid of it - that is cost-friendly if possible, but it's becoming really unberable! Any ideas? Thanks!

We've had the same barstools in our house for several years now. Probably around 7 or 8 years. I'm pretty sure they either came from Lowe's or Wolohan Lumber (which went out of businees or is a company that went bankrupt, not sure). Anyway, the screws keep working out of them. They are light colored, stained wood. The whole barstool is wooden. Theyre like really tall chairs, with a back and everything. We've tried everything to fix them, we just cant keep screws or nails from working their way out of them. No one in our family is obese or anything, so the weight of someone sitting on them is not the problem, unless they just werent made good. My mother wants to replace them, but it will probably be a year before we get to do so, since we just paid for new flooring, and my sister and I are both in college. Is there any low cost way to fix them or are we wasting our time?
