What should I do with it? My roommate a bunch of them outside on our patio, but he's not in town. Also, if I wanted to throw it away, how should I do so? Can I put it in a regular trash bag if the bottle is full?

HA! are you out of your mind?? that is the most dangerous thing i've ever heard of. wat if some problems occurred with ur water heater?? you should place them separately to prevent any problems. also, u cannot throw them in regular trash bags, you need to take them to special deposits where they deal with this type of refuse. btw, duznt it say inflammable and do not throw away on the container? ;-) gud luk i hope it helps!!!

No.. do not do that... Even if your water heater has been well naintained and the lighter fluid is pretty much safe in it's container and won't blow up on it's own...it is safer to place them under the sink or somewhere where it won't get caught on fire if it leaks.

flammables should never be stored close to a possible ignition source. give the stuff away or burn it off or take it to a
recycle/ reclaim outlet in your area. and just to let you know,
there is no such item as a "hot water heater", they are called
water heaters, just thought you should know.

Keeping anything flammable in close proximity to any form of ignition is dangerous! As a volunteer fireman in my youth, I witnessed many houses burned severely from just this type thing! I don't know what resources are in your area for proper disposal of hazardous waste. I suggest finding a fireman and asking him/her, they know exactly what to do and who to call!

if the heater is gas, i would say you are asking for trouble.

I must ask, what the heck is a water heater doing outside?
