I believe my element burned out on my hotwater heater and I need to know step by step on how to replace it. Its practically a 3 yr old hotwater heater and it has a safety tank on top of the heater. I know to turn off the power, and I already unscrewed the plates on the front of the heater. Took out the installation and now I just need to know how to get the elements out.

I just got a new house and it turns out the refrigerator doesn't have a cold line running to it. We're buying a new fridge and we want one that has a water/ice dispenser, but you need a cold water line run to it. Does anyone have any idea how much that might cost? Would it be possible for me to do that myself? I have some money, but not a whole lot, and I really want to get this done. Please help!

We have laminate 'wood' floors that got saturated with water not too long ago, but we thought they had dried out. Now we are getting these enormous slugs coming into the kitchen at night, and can't track them down. Are they coming in because we have hidden water damage under the floors? Will we have to replace our flooring? Does this mean we have a bigger problem than we thought? Help!

I'd like to sell my house. However, it's definitely sunk. I think the term is "settled." You can definitely feel the slope when in the house. Will it get worse? Is it worth it to repair the the foundation before putting it on the market?

I want to do the right thing and not swindle someone like my family got swindling purchasing this sunken house.

Thanks in advance.

Recently had a house built...and the garage is insulated and drywalled, but not painted. I was told that if I did not put at least one coat of paint of the drywall, that eventually it would warp and sag. Is this true?

we were told that our salt level (total dissolved solids) in our chlorine pool was rediculously high. apparently we have to empty our pool and refill it because the water is "old" (compliments of the previous homeowner!)
anyone head of this, or know what else we can do in the mean time to decrease the salt level (TDS)? we cant empty the pool until the air temp is below 80 (we're in arizona and that wont be till october!)

Took apart the blade assembly and all seems in order. Also ran with the door open using a screw driver to trick the safety--the machine is getting water. The blade will not shoot water at the dishes but the motor makes noises like its running. Is this something the lay homeowner can fix?

It works fine until you put the deck down and suddenly it turns off. I've looked and looked for the fuse or whatever the cause is and have asked for help at our local riding mower fix it people. They are out of ideas and want me to bring it in. This is my last hope to fix it myself.

I just bought a new moen kitchen faucet, no kinks in the lines, and i checked the aerator. I disconnected the lines to check the pressure from the lines, it is strong at that point which leads me to think it is the faucet or something getting caught in the faucet and restricting flow, but what, and what can i do. The previous faucet had low flow as well. All of the other faucets in the house have good pressure. I found a few specks of rust in the aerator of both new and old faucets. Is there an internal screen in the faucet itself that i can clean? It is a real pain to wash dishes. Need help ASAP.

I told a realator friend of mine and she said that she has the same problem at her house. She said one of the builders in her developement carried her to a house at her developement that was still being built and demonstrated the same problem with no visable sign of leaking. He said that it was due to pipes being clean, and probly needed insulation. Does this sound plausable?

My uncle bought a bar and I've been helping to fix up a lot of the electric, the other night we were in the kitchen (I work as a cook there too) and the lights, stoves, and everything else electrical except the stereo started turning on and off. It was almost like someone was flipping a master switch that controlled everything, I thought I could hear a clicking form a switch to, though that may have been the stove or somethingturning on and off. It wasn't just the kitchen thuogh, it was at the bar and dining room too. anyone have any ideas it does this? He says it does it every now and then.
