Before it can spin all the water has to drain out...possible reasons are 1 bad lid switch....2 bad pump.....it is a lot cheaper to have this fixed a compared to buying a new washer

Dona W
Your washer does not drain out the water or it does but the clothes are still damp after the cycle is done? If it does not drain, most likely the problem is with the pump or drain line and most of the previous advice is right. If the clothes are just damp, then there is probably nothing broken. If the load was unbalanced during the spin cycle or the washer was overloaded, the basket will never go on full speed.

You should get parts. My Whirlpool does the same thing. We are hand starting the spin now, but have talked to a repairman. who will be telling us what to do as soon as we get the washer # to him. You can order parts online, I bought my dial for small or large loads that way. Good luck.

Hi Dona I cant believe everyone is saying bad parts. Its usually that the pump gets something stuck in it and just needs to be taken out. If you can access the pump pull the hose off and pull out the blockage. Good luck

If the tub spins but the water does not exit, it is probably the pump that is bad. Your choice on repair or replacement.

I think you should call a repairman. Is it new? Is it still under warranty?

Either way.....get it checked out by someone who knows what they are doing.

Good luck.
