off, scrape and dry, apply new white calk and let dry for 2 days and within a month it still starts to peel off. Should I get the clear sealant?...like the rubbery kind? Would that be better than the white calk? Any other ideas on what I could possibly be doing wrong would be appreciated. Thanks.

We had a repair man out to fix our washing machine recently the part was not very expensive £26, but the labour cost was, over £80 for about 15 minutes work.

Question.

What qualifications do you need to be a washing machine repairer.

I think it is identifying the fault is No:1 priority and ordering the correct new part/parts, making sure everything is put back safely with no risk of injury to the user.

Is there any online information, books, courses anybody can recommend.

I am not an electrician but have some knowledge of electrics.

I have a basic light fixture (one black, one white wire) and a box with 4 wires (red, white, black and ground). I have tried several combinations and cannot get the fixture to work. What am I doing wrong? What wire goes with what wire? Thank you!

I've been without water for several days as the pump to my well burned up or went out. A plumber just came and replaced the pump but there is hardly any water pressure. He told me he believes something is wrong with the foot valve and asked me where the well is located. When I told my ex-husband he said I shouldn't pay to have the well dug up and to just wait for a thaw to come as the problem is most likely due to the foot valve of the well being frozen, now. I live in Indiana and we have around 15 inches of snow at this time. I've lived here in this house since Oct. 1988 and have never had this problem before now. My ex-husband and I still own the house together and share in the cost of things. I don't mind waiting if he has a point but if he is just trying to get out of paying money, I don't want to go any longer without water. Please help out by advising. Thank you for your help.

My circumstances have changed and I no longer need my snowblower. I live in upstate, New York. It's only been used 4x. It's heavy duty and in terrific shape. Should I try to sell it now or is it too late in the winter?

It sounds like a humming noise when the pump is running and gets louder after a few minutes.
The radiators work fine and so does the boiler.
The pump is about 2 weeks old and is on the fatest setting.
Any ideas what is causing this noise.

I am wiring a new light fixture into existing structure where the old light fixture was. At the same time I need to splice a very low voltage set of christmas lights into the wiring. Would this be too much volts for the christmas lights? They would go on & off with the light switch. If this does not work, can I splice a different type of low voltage light fixture into the same type of setup, just not the christmas lights?

I have just complete painting the inside of my house and have been working out of my garage. Unfortunately I was not as careful when pouring the paint in the paint in the garage and didn't think until afterwards to cover the concrete floor.

Can anyone help with how to get dried water based paint and primer off my floor?? I've tried scrubbing with Greased Lightning but it doesn't do any good. HELP!

When the temperature is very low (-12), how do you keep your pipes from freezing and busting? do you drip cold water, hot water, or both? yesterday i dripped only cold and the hot water froze (apparently not much because after i opened cabinets and cranked up the heater a little they were running this morning). I am newly divorced and cannot afford to replace all the pipes under my house if they bust. I NEED HELP!!!!

My furnace is about 7 years old. I replaced the temp control board about 3-4 years ago. A couple of weeks a go, it would not come on. I found the wire to the ignitor had a bad connection. But, this problem existed before that, and is still happening. The furnac comes on and warms up normally. It then starts blowing and runs for about 5 minutes. It then shuts off for about 3-4 minutes then comes back on and finishes it's cycle. When it turns off, it has not reached the set temp.. but after coming on the second time, it reaches the set temp and turns off. What's up?

i bought my house 5 years ago knowing it had a new roof put on 2 years before I was fortunate enough that the guy who owned the house before be left 10 years worth of paper work that was done to the house and when the roof was done it had a 10 yr warrenty on workmanship? where they repaired a leak above my kitchen and 20 years on the roofing materials. well 3 years ago the roof started leaking in the same spot again so this was 4 years after the original job was done to stop the leak. So with warrenty in hand i called the roofing company and at that time the lady told me she didnt know if it was covered becasue we were new owners and she would call me back with a responce never heard back from her now its been 3 years and 20 phone calls later and ive gone nowhere wit this place what do i do about them??? since im a new owner can i sue to have it fixed since i bought the house assuming it had a good roof or do i pay someone to come and fix it and chalk it up as a loss???

I bought a Yardworks snowblower from Canadian Tire model # 60-3752-8 and it keeps burning off belts, 5 belts and used it about 15 times. Does anyone else have this model and are you having any problems with it? I have looked at for any obvious sharp edges around pulleys but have not found any.

I would like feedback from any other owners of this particular model and see if this is a isolated case. This is the only problem I have had with it, but its a major one, because I can't use it the way it is.

I looked on the internet for feedback but am having a hard time even finding this model or Yardworks for that matter, forget about any compalints about it.
