It sounds like a humming noise when the pump is running and gets louder after a few minutes.
The radiators work fine and so does the boiler.
The pump is about 2 weeks old and is on the fatest setting.
Any ideas what is causing this noise.

its because you have it on the fast setting and or you have some air in the system

Hope that's all fixed now. If I ever have a problem like that I'd recommend getting some quotes from a number of local gas engineers. I did just this, and went with STL Heating and Energy who are north west based - because their prices were the cheapest but going from the reviews on their website - I knew they were a decent firm.

Turn your pump down a notch and check for air trapped in the pump.To do this. unscrew the cap on the centre of the pump and any air will bubble out. You may have to turn the pump down 2 notches as long as it doesn't affect the heating. Vent the pump with the boiler off.

Put it at a slower speed, bleed any air off (from the big screw on the end cover) make sure it's in the right orientation. i.e. The screw should NOT be below the horizontal line.

Download and read P2 of this Grundfos document, it applies to most types of domestic heating circulators.

after a while when the bearings set in, the noise should dissipate, if it doesnt you may need to have the installers return for new adjustments in the settings

you need to get in touch with the engineer and at least ask him on the phone first, then he can come out if it isn't normal
