We just pulled very old wallpaper off of plaster walls... this wallpaper had been painted over many times, in fact, the plaster looks like it has never been painted at all.... what prep do we need to do to paint these walls? Is there a specific primer for plaster walls?

I didn't realize you weren't supposed to put paper towels in the toilet (stupid me) and had several in there from my puppy's accidents since I didn't want it smelling up the trash. Anyways, my toilet is clogged but I plunged it and had guys plunge it and nothing works...the water goes down but as soon as I flush it it comes back up. I heard something about an auger helping -- would it and how about this link http://www.homedepot.com/prel80/HDUS/EN_US/diy_main/pg_diy.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@1878801456.1171828940@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccdladdkekmegefcgelceffdfgidgki.0&CNTTYPE=PROD_META&CNTKEY=misc/searchResults.jsp&MID=9876&N=2984+3116&pos=n10

We have tried different products from Home Depot (polyseamseal All-purpose adhesive caulk, GE kitchen & bath silicone II, DAp kwik seal plus kitchen & bath adhesive caulk, you name it) and none will last more tha 6 weeks. What tipe of product would you recommend? I've even thought of getting some silicone sealant for boats (West Marine) or for fish tanks.

The Model # is WJSR2070B2WW. It was off balance and started making a horrible noise and wouldn't agitate or spin. It does fill up and pump the water back out. My son looked at it and pushed on something underneath and it agitated, but still wouldn't spin. He says he thought some "shaft" was bent. He is not an appliance repair person, though. Online sites are suggesting some coupler thing could be the problem. I am praying it is not the clutch or transmission. This washer is only 4 years old. We are on fixed income and can't afford costly repair or new washer. If we knew what it was, son could probably fix it. HELP!!

Can cold, outside air temperatures damage a fridge? If so, what is most likely to happen? Compressor damage?

This damage was done by him banging on my door when my daughter refused to open it during a fight they were having...he is 19 and she is 21....
He tells her to fix it with the money he gave her to buy her some clothes. Actually the door is in need of replacement. I have told her to tell him that. She says he says for her to fix it. Is this the right way for him to handle this Should my daughter be the one to fix it. I think he should just get me a new door. He also has punched in five other holes in my daughters room, he has not fix any of those. So what should I do? Thanks.

Hi, I know there was already a question answered, but my situation is slightly different. My basement smells like sewage as well as paint, gas, etc; things we haven't been using in our home.

In front of my home, the street looks as though it's literally sinking, plus we have a hydrant in front. I live in NY and I've called 311 (our non-emergency line) numerous times, but to no avail. I don't know what to do.

My questions are: Could it be a break in the line? Who is responsible for repair? How can I get the city to help?

TIA.

Underground frozen water pipes are three quarter inch galvanized pipe; length is 80 feet from house to street. We've called the city (it's "our responsibility"); have rented pipe heater (didn't work after 18 hour application); no plumbers do this type of work in our area; any other ideas besides digging it up or waiting on warmer temperatures?? Thanks for help.

I have a Rinnai tankless water heating system that is used to heat my mobile home. It continues to set a code 12 ,lack of fuel flow, due to condensation freezing in the propane tank regulator ( or so I'm told). I've installed heat tape around the lines to no avail. When this code sets, the heating system shuts down, and resets by manually shutting the unit down and restarting. It then continues to work until it freezes up again .Its pretty cold in N.H. !! Any help is appreciated! Thanks,

What is the best exterior door to use? I currently have a wood door that is cracked/split and needs replacing. It faces south and gets a lot of sun exposure. I live in Wisconsin so we have all the climates to deal with. Is fiberglass the way to go? What are other options?

The water from my faucets in my house is leaving a white scummy residue on all my pot/pans etc. Also my glassware is cloudy and chalky when it comes out the dishwasher. I am unfamiliar with water softeners. I have checked salt levels which are ok. Any ideas or suggestions as to why my water is doing this appreciated.

Oh....this it only started a week or so ago...no problems until recently.... thanks
