The water from my faucets in my house is leaving a white scummy residue on all my pot/pans etc. Also my glassware is cloudy and chalky when it comes out the dishwasher. I am unfamiliar with water softeners. I have checked salt levels which are ok. Any ideas or suggestions as to why my water is doing this appreciated.

Oh....this it only started a week or so ago...no problems until recently.... thanks

Did you check and see if the venturi was clean in your softener. Check the manual for cleaning procedure. If it is try to see if time and recharge time are correct you might be recharging during a high water use time due to a power outage ect.

we used Morton salt..its in a big yellow bag. we had some residue here in there but not a lot. i dont know why it would be that bad though. Now if water leaked from somewhere, then it would leave a white powdery residue around wherever it was leaking but thats it...maybe try drying the dishes by hand or change your salt. it could be that you dont have enough or that you have too much....hope i helped
