We have tried different products from Home Depot (polyseamseal All-purpose adhesive caulk, GE kitchen & bath silicone II, DAp kwik seal plus kitchen & bath adhesive caulk, you name it) and none will last more tha 6 weeks. What tipe of product would you recommend? I've even thought of getting some silicone sealant for boats (West Marine) or for fish tanks.

## GET THE WATER CHECKED

The two surfaces must be cleaned good. I would use alcohol or acetone to clean both surfaces to make sure you get a good adhesion to them. A good 100% silicone should work then wait 24+ hours before using or exposing the silicone to water.

Any good quality caulk will be fine as long as the surface you are caulking is CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN.

Did I mention the surface has to be clean?

After cleaning all the old caulk off, scrub with a good detergent. Let this dry, and then wipe the surface where the caulk will be with rubbing or denatured alcohol. Allow to dry, and then apply your new caulk. Bet this works for you.

The important thing is that your surface MUST be clear of all the old caulk and be dry before applying new caulk. Once this is done, then apply Silicone Caulk and let dry for 24 hours before getting it wet.

that means that you may have another problem
or are you giving the sealant enough time to cure ? that is very important !
also clear the area of mold mildew and any moisture
then try again and you will not have a problem unless there is a leak in the wall and moisture is not allowing it to seal

Your tub has probably got a soap scum that you can't see on it. You must clean the area real good to make it stick. All you have mentioned is a good sealer but, your wasting it without cleaning the area first.
