I just put it up 2 months ago this is the first time it did anything.. What should I do. Is this dangerous All i did was open the windows for about 15 minutes.. How long does the dectector have to go off before its dangerous.

If anyone feels dizzy, sick, tired, etc., GET OUT OF THE HOUSE.

I assume you mean your carbon MONOXIDE detector. My guess is that it is a model that plugs into an electrical outlet, and that your electricity was briefly interrupted. This causes a brief loud beep and another beep when the power is restored. The digital readings should rapidly return to normal. In a proper functioning detector, the beeps will be repetative or continuous if carbon monoxide levels are elevated.

By the way, early signs of Carbon monoxide poisoning are fatigue and severe headache. They say that your face can be flushed and lips are cherry red, but I think you will be unconscious by that time.

If you have any doubt that your CO detector is functioning correctly, replace it.

i never herd of a carbon dioxide detector. carbon dioxide is present in the Earth's atmosphere, if u had a carbon dioxide detector it would awlays go off.

Check the batteries. If your batteries are getting low they will beep.
