In an apartment, the stoves are always too close to the wall and do not have divider cabinetry. Therefore, the paint is bubbling up. It is unsighly and I fear unsafe. I plan to strip away the bubbled paint, first. I've bought a 2x2 piece of styrene (clear) to cover the wall with. I don't want ugly nails to demark my concept. However, I'm uncertain how to attach it.

I connected the solar cell that would run a small motor. I figured it would turn the base on. I connected the positive to the base of the transistor and the negative to the ground of the breadboard. The power for the LED is a 9volt battery with a 200 ohm transistor going in the collector and out the emitter to the ground of breadboard. nothing!!!

I have a well-loved, but 16 year old Maytag dryer. It works fine except that if I open the door (when it's running), it trips the breaker. This is new behavior, it's worked fine until now. It's too expensive to get a repair person for a dryer this old, but I don't want to fill the landfill, if I can avoid it. Any ideas out there?

Our house is equipped with a hot water boiler system for radiant heat. The boiler is 40 years old and we've never had a single problem with it other than having to replace zone valves. With proper maintenance how long will one of these boilers last?

I have a Maxim volkera 24e combi boiler and recently the hot water has started running hot and cold. The central heating is working fine it's jusy the hot water at fault. Also the pressure indicator keeps dropping off to zero, i can increase the pressure by opening the two valves inderneath. Does anyone have any ideas how to remedy this without having to go through the costly routine of calling out a plumber? Cold showers are not nice! Cheers.

wrap them in plastic or coat them with water proof coating? It seems so simple and would prevent so many problems.

Had dishwasher & small portable electrical heater running when it stopped. I went to check the box to reset the switch. It was on "on" position so I pushed to "off" then "on" again. Still none of the outlets are working. Any suggestions on what it could be. My plugs on island are regular outlets - meaning does not have a red/black button that I can reset. Do I need to replace fuse in box? Thank you for any help!

I inherited decking around a chalet which has the wrong type of screw, so orange rust marks are showing. I made enquiries but no one really wants the job of replacing over 300 screws...and I'm past doing the job myself...just wondered if there was anything around which I could just paint over them with? Its the usual type of thing seen all over caravan sites - white plastic decking. I'm female so don't get too techical...LOL and thanks for any answers. Elaine

I wanted to know is there any way to repair the plastic ends of the frames that rest above your ear? My dog unfortunately chewed off one of them and now just the metal frame is exposed.

I already know that cleaning them professionally is an option but that it too expensive for me. Plus, they said that it probably doesn't need cleaning becasue my house is only 7 years old. It just started stinking here recently.

We found a nice house, completely renovated and to our taste. We thought we would have no work to do, but now we learned that we have to redo the whole outside brick wall, plus the roof. We will renegociate the price but I think that we will end up paying more in the end, not counting that we will have to have the work done, when we thought we had peace of mind. Should we just drop it and keep on looking, or buy it even if we end up paying more?

They are everywhere. One of them has chewed through my spice rack, sending all my spices tumbling to the floor. Another has started sleeping in my bath, which makes washing difficult to say the least. What can I do?

Hello,
I found out last night that a small leak is occurring on the baseboard heating I have. The leak is a slow drip and is coming from the "control box". The "control box" is what I believe to be where the thermostat controls the amount of heat.
I don't have any knowledge when it comes to baseboard heating. But would like to know if this is something minor and if I could fix myself or do I need to call in a tech?
I'm totally in the dark about baseboard heat.

Thanks.

The radiators at the top of my house refuse to bleed. They are cold at the top and warm (not hot) at the bottom. When I bleed them air comes out at the start but quickly fizzes out, then nothing no water, no more air, nothing. After this they gurgle for a bit and thats all????
The radiators down stairs are fine, and its fed from a combi boiler.
Any Ideas????
Thanks
