Had dishwasher & small portable electrical heater running when it stopped. I went to check the box to reset the switch. It was on "on" position so I pushed to "off" then "on" again. Still none of the outlets are working. Any suggestions on what it could be. My plugs on island are regular outlets - meaning does not have a red/black button that I can reset. Do I need to replace fuse in box? Thank you for any help!

I checked around the house and reset any outlet (bathroom/front hall) that I did have a reset button but still does not work.

If the island was installed sometime after the house was built, the GFCI outlet might be in a completely unexpected room, on the island circuits might be on a different breaker switch.
For instance, the house I purchased has the garage, half the kitchen, and part of the downstairs basement on one breaker. I also have a GFCI outlet in the Master Bathroom that trips if an outlet in the guest bedroom, on the other side of the house, gets overloaded.
Shoddy electricians do some strange things with the wiring when they think nobody's looking.

Make sure the circuit breaker is not defective and works properly. If all GFI receptacles have been checked, I would check for a loose wire in the affected circuit - loose because it might have overheated and burned off. With the power off, check the wire connections at each receptacle. Make sure all are tight and clean. Start with the receptacle the heater was plugged into. If you do not find a loose or burned connection, the next step is to trace the circuit while it is energized, and locate the box or device that electricity is going into but not coming out of. Once you find that, then check all connections at that device. All wire splices should also be checked. If you do not know how to do electrical work, have this done by a licensed electrician.

i found that i had the same problem it was a fried wire in the outlet box it removed all power down stream . the only why to test this is to open the out let and test the hot wires coming into the box if you have power in the outlet box and no power through the outlet then you have found the problem buy a new switch and install it if there is no power in the box then go to the next box and keep looking till you find it .it my take some time i had to go through many box's before i found the burnt wire .

The receptacles on the island may not be a GFI but if they are current (unintentional pun), they are protected by a GFI elsewhere in the Kitchen. Make sure none of them have tripped. You shouldn't have to replace the breaker.

Need to check power right at the breaker, with a voltmeter. If you're not familiar with how to use a voltmeter, you should have someone who is do the test for you, as taking the cover off a breaker panel can get you electricuted.
