I tested the ignitor and it doesnt seem to have an open in the circuit but before i removed it i tested the voltage going to it. the box feeding power to the ignitor says it is a 24v ignitor but only putting out 15v to the ignitor. I searched the internet for the igniter and cant find a source for united technologies electronic controls. i dont know if it is a smart valve. The valve is a G ROBERTSHAW-GRAYSON.any help would be greatly appreciated

When I use my shower, air bubbles and a gurgling sound occur at my toilet bowl in the bathroom. When the toilet is flushed the same noises are heard coming from the bathroom drain! Also the same noises can be heard from the kitchen sink drain and the other bathroom at the opposite end of my house. Is this a clog or a blocked vent or what?

all dirty and worn-out before renting the unit out again in Phoenix, Arizona?? Is it that the people here just don't care much about these things or don't think that they are important?? Why is that?? Are their standards that low?

I have a large stain on my cieling, and it won't come off. I have already tried Mr. Clean's Magic eraser and wet paper towels, and while they helped diminish it a bit, the stain is still visible. My mother suggested painting it. How would I paint just one particular patch without making it stand out? Does this mean I'll have to do my entire cieling. If so, what type of paints should I use?

My dining room table is cherry with beveled glass inserts in two large pieces. I have a tiny chink out of the one side. Is there any way to repair it or do I have to bite the bullet and spend several hundred dollars to get two new pieces? The glass place cannot make just one, they say. They won't match.

The pressures dropped on my boiler, and when I've tried to renew the pressure, its gone up to 1.5 nearly 2. past the red needle anyway. Is the red needle indicative of the lowest pressure or the highest, and if its the highest, how do I reduce pressure? Its working by the way, I imagine if things weren't ok it would cut out. Any Help?

Hello...

I am hoping to find out if there is a device that would help me troubleshoot a faulty combination boiler (Vokera Compact 24). The boiler heats up, hits error condition, (red light) cuts out and then fires up again, and so forth. The error condition can last for a number of hours on some occasions before it resets to green. Also problem is intermittent, in that it may result in effectively unusabale hot water and central heating system for 2 weeks and then just work again and then fail again. I can't as yet identify a pattern.

Obviously the error could be any one of the items involved in firing up and maintaining the sequence required to produce hot water in a constant fashion (e.g: gas present? Fan running? Water flow switch? etc...) - someone even suggested there is a spring involved in the gas supply within the boiler that may be faulty hence the cutting out!!???

So, is there a device to connect to the boiler that can help diagnose where the problem lies?

Thanks!

HI, WAS AWAKE EARLY AND CAUGHT THE INFOMERCIAL ON THE LITTLE GIANT LADDER. CAUGHT MY EYE, AGAIN. WENT ON LINE TO DO SOME RESEARCH, FOUND A COMPARABLE LADDER FROM LOWES CALLED THE WERNER MT-22 LADDER. ANYONE HAVE SOME EXPERT ADVICE ON THIS? I OWN AN 1870 VICTORIAN HOME, WITH HIGH CEILINGS, NOT SURE JUST HOW OFTEN I WILL ACTUALLY USE THIS, BUT SEEMS LIKE THE LOWES VERSION IS MUCH MORE ECONOMICAL. IT ALSO LOOKS LIKE IT HAS MORE EFFECIENT STABILIZER REINFORCED FEET. WOULD APPRECIATE ANY INPUT..THANKS

Firstly....yes I have bled all of the radiators, and there was only one in the house that had any air in it.
Other checks;
- Boiler is heating the water very hot ok
- Pump is running ok
- Pipework from the pump is very hot
- Copper pipe entering the radiators is very hot

- However, the radiators are only tepid

Any ideas what I should check next?

We are freezing to death, our furnace is under our house and I believe having the fan on would push the cold air up. We use our woodstove for most of the winter and he believes turning the fan on will circulate the woodstove's heat. Is this correct?

I have dual-zone gas boiler. The first zone is working just fine - the boiler lights up, heats and pumps the water up. The second zone, however, throws "tantrums". Two days in a row, I had no heat upstairs. I swapped the thermostats (digital) to see if that's where the problem was, but it made no difference. I figured, maybe it was the power head of the zone valve that was old and faulty, so I got a new one. The heat worked.... one day. The next, nothing. The following morning, I gave it a shot again and turned it on - it worked. Tonight, once again, nothing. Water is being sent up, but the furnace doesn't turn on to heat the water.
Anyone got a clue what the problem might be before I call for an expensive professional help?

Our bedrooms are over the garage and we are freezing in there! My husband just replaced the insulation in the garage ceiling. How important is it to drywall over that? Where can we find the leak that is causing the colder temps in these rooms? What kind of contractor should we hire? A heating/cooling type or what?

I had a water leak which the AHS dudes came and fixed. They said that they wouldnt cover "fixing" the wet carpet and padding since that is not covered in their warranty.

It is saturday night and it looks like the earliest i can contact someone to come fix my carpet might be Monday -- i have fans running and have sucked out some of the water from the carpet. Is it ok to wait till Monday (in all about 48 hours) to get some professional help or do you suggest that I try to get someone in tomorrow (Sunday)?

The affected area is about 20 sq feet in the bathroom on the ground floor.

Thanks for your help!
