I am renting an apartment, and I think I spoiled the parquet there. I put a pot with a flower right on the floor, and somehow the floor under the pot looks darker now: I think the water was coming through. Now there is a distinctive dark (wet?) circle on a very visible spot. Does anyone know how to get rid of it?

Looking at 32" Sanyo LCD tv. Have satellite hookup at home. Can I just buy the TV as is, in the box without buying special additional cables and equipment, and plug it in and attach existing satellite cable?

My house has no insulation no A/C and it's over 105 outside, so my house has become a hotbox. I have tried a few thing, and can't seem to get it right. I have a fan and ceiling fans. We've been putting the fan in front of an open door in the hopes it will pull out the hot air during the day and pull in the cool air at night, obviously turning the fan the appropriate direction.

Anyhow, any advice, besides buying a swamp cooler (too humid here anyhow) or getting A/C would be great.

I can call out on telephone and DSL works fine. However, when someone tries to call in, they hear one ring, then static. If I am on the phone when someone calls, the answering service (provided by telephone company) will pick up. If I am not on the phone, caller just hears the one ring, then static.

Appt for 8am Friday morning. They got here at 2pm. I needed a circuit board (as I told them before they got here). Left 10 min later to obtain board.
They called at 6pm, can't fix it until monday at 9am due to staffing and problems obtaining the circuit board. It is now 9:20am Monday, no call, no service person. It is freaking hot here the past 4 days. My house was 103 on Saturday at 11am. Do I wait and let these people work on it and probably fix it today, or tell them never mind and wait for another company who can be here Wed 12-2pm and helped me diagnoise it over the phone? I'm ticked off but hate this heat. I don't want to stand on principle and suffer, but then again not sure if this is a company I should count on.

My friend spilled some liquid on the carpet. He tried to use bleach to wipe them off. It came out the carpet is now in two different colors and there're strong bleach smells. Is bleach harmful to skin? My son always sleep on carpet. How can I get rid of the smell? Any way I can restore the carpet color?

We had some black spots on some of our windows due to condensation. It was suggested that we would need to fix it so we sanded, re-stained, and sealed the windows that were affected. We were not able to get out all of the staining as it had gone through the entire window on two of the windows. The problem should not get any worse however since the windows are now sealed (I don't think they were sealed before!). I am worried sick that this could ruin the sale of our house. Do you think that it is a big deal? They are just stains.

The thermostat is set to cool the whole day and night and keep temp at 78F. During the day everything seems fine...Fan in attic runs and unit outside runs as well. Air is blowing out of vents at 64F. At night 8-9pm...It starts to blow hot air(84F+)...Fan in attic is running but unit outside is not running. We had a tech come in twice cleaned the coils and said everything is running perfect.

Any suggestions out there? Could it be that once the air temperature outside goes below the temperature inside it starts to malfuction?

I own a maisonette that sits above a ground floor flat. The bin store roof, which is the responsibility of the flat below me, is leaking. At present the owner of the ground floor flat is selling the property. It has now been sold, although I assume they have not completed or exchanged yet as it only sold a few weeks ago. I have telephoned the estate agents about the leak (I cannot contact the current owner as he does not live there and I do not have his contact details) and nothing has happened. I am now writing a letter for both the owner and the estate agent about this. The leak has caused some damage to the wall in my hallway. I was wondering if the owner and/or estate agent were legally obliged to tell the purchaser about this leak, or is it expected that the purchaser should identify it? Does the Property Misrepresentation Act come into play here? I want to know where the purchasers stand as the I don't want is to get off on a bad foot with them over a leaky roof!

i inadvertently flushed a medium size block of plaster down the toilet. Used a regular plunger to try to dislodge it- it works for awhile but then clogs again. Doesn't overflow, but takes multiple flushes to clear toilet. Got a toilet auger to try to dislodge it. Seems to get stuck where plaster is- not sure but thats what im thinking. Any suggestions about chemicals to use to dissolve plaster? or maybe different techniques with auger?
