HI I am a joiner and have fitted many upvc window frames and the best cleaner to use is a upvc cleaner ( I know it sounds obvious ) . Trust me
You can get it in two forms . A cream and a liquid solution.
Get the liquid form as it does not need buffing. Don't get it from B&Q and Homebase etc as it will cost around £10.
Find your local supplier of upvc plastic fascia board and gutters, were you will find it costs around £ 3 to 4

Sticky stuff remover -from clean-eze or Better-ware works. But if you know a nurse or someone similar.... The stuff they use to get the sticky off your skin after they take a plaster off is great for this job. That is the best stuff! Surgical spirit will work. I've tried petrol that used to work - but with some modern adhesives it doesn't seem to work.

I use clear packing tape. It's adhesive will usually pull of the other stuff without leaving anything behind. Goo gone also works well but is a little messy and chemicals might harm a plastic surface.

Furniture polish..... whatever is in polish disolves the sticky tape residue........ but be careful if using it on the bath as it will be very slippy when wet!

Just get a non-abrasive cloth and dampen it with unleaded petrol. That should take the gooey mess off easily, just don't smoke while you're doing that!!

I would try good old WD-40 with a soft cloth then wash it with soap & water.
