In the city of Sonoma CA, there is a row of trees on 2nd Street that produce a Fall crop of fruit that is chartreuse and yellow . The tree looks like a Cottonwood tree (not as tall) and the fruit resembles a human brain, varying in size from a softball to a large Grapefruit. It smells like a cross between a pineapple and pine tree. I have trepidation about eating this fruit as I cannot find any reference to it's toxic nature.

I have a huge leaf it feels like velvet and some dried up seed pods that look some what like a cluster of walnuts (but not). I live in western New York and i know this tree gets purple flowers in the spring. I'm looking for a good site to help me identify the tree

My Aloe Vera plant is outside in a 100 # pot, difficult to lift and carry. I need to protect it from 27º temperatures coming up in two days, lower in December. The boss says "no way" can the plant come in the house. Oklahoma is capable of below zero but it's rare. Any ideas?

My sister needs a cedar tree to pick fresh cedar berries from so she can make a tea that, according to native tradition, can help with certain ailments--one of them being diabetes. Is there anyone who may have (or know of someone who has) a cedar tree, or can send us some fresh cedar berries by mail and we'll pay for the postage + extra. Let me know please if you have any leads or if you can help. thanks!

It's time to harvest the turnips but my tractor is broken... I think it's either the clutch or the self-detonation button.

I just recently moved from Arizona to Oklahoma and I Had a grapevine there but I moved before I got a chance to harvest the grapes for the first time. So I'm wondering what types of grapevines do well here and what's the best time to plant a grapevine?

My son is growing pumpkins from seeds he planted at his school. There are 5 little plants about 4" high growing in a plastic cup. The roots are looking a little cramped. We live in the Tampa area of Florida. Can I plant them outside now or do I just get a bigger pot to put them in? I don't know anything about growing pumpkins, but my son really wants to grow one. Can someone give me some advice about when to plant them, what to feed them, what about bugs, where do I plant them outside (sun, shade?). Thanks in advance!

Our backyard is mostly dirt/sand and it is too late to do any sodding, but we have to stop the stuff from being kicked up by the dogs. It's causing major respiratory problems in the family. Any ideas on how to fix this until we can sod in the spring? Wetting it down daily just makes mud, but with the dogs running around and playing, it's like a dust storm and it's affecting my breathing as well as the dog's allergies. We live near a marsh in Savannah, and until the frost threat goes away, we can't sod.

Help! I can't breathe any more!

move to a different location within the my garden.

I just moved and where I moved to has this odd tree in the front yard. It has rows of long thin leaves, fuzzy branches that break off easily in fall, and produces red cone-shaped clusters that point upward. It also reproduces by tubing roots I believe.

The shovel head worm is harmless to humans and eats snails, slugs, etc. But the problem is that they eat the earthworms too and I want to keep my earthworms. Also I am tired of peeling them off of my cats and dogs, it creates a nasty sticky issue.
Any help appreciated! Thanks
