they're not a problem. I don't care if the snakes are poisonous or not. I really appreciate all suggestions so far. I live in the high desert area. I accept I have a problem with my fear, that is not the issue. I have never heard of snake poison. any lethal substance would be appreciated. Thanks

ok, so this is the first time I will ever mow a lawn and I've decided to purchase an electric (corded) lawn mower. Should I also buy warranty for it? They have plans up to 4 years at Lowe's for $50.

We planted peonies last year, we thought we had lost all of the 4 plants we planted, but low and behold this year they are growing quite well. They are now about 12 or more inches in height. My question is will we get flowers this year? Thank You. Jean

I'm in a rental, and I want to clear out the back yard for my dog. Controlled burns are out of the question as I live in Arizona, and they don't burn unless they have to. For anyone who lives in theSW area, it's full of goathead plants. It's nothing but weeds and a big mesquite tree, which I can't get rid of. Any ideas would be great, because I plan on doing a dog run and rocking the rest.

I'm trying to totally clear a part of my yard that is under a tree. The ground is covered with weeds and is basically a thick weed wasteland right now. If I put down roundup to kill the weeds and everything else, how long will it before I can get anything else to grow in that area? Will it also kill the tree?

Just got a bonsai plant from the mong kok flower market here in hk and i am not sure if it is a bonsai plant or not..

I looked at a lot of bonsai plant pics on the internet and none look like the one i have up close. The main part of it seems to twist around and there are branches making it resemble a miniature tree. But like i said, i have not seen any other bonsai plant like it in the searches I have done. Could it be some other plant that resemble a bonsai plant or is it just some chinese type of bonsai that can only be found here in hong kong?

Does anyone know an effective non-chemical way to get rid of scotchbroom. I have been cutting it below ground level year after year which seems to be killing off a few every year...but there has got to be a better way!

I'm growing strawberries this year. I have an everbearing plant which is growing well. I read that I'm supposed to pinch the blossoms until late June. Should I do pinch off just the blossoms, or the whole stem holding the blossoms? Is it best to do this when the blossoms first appear as buds or to wait until they have opened? What exactly does this do for the plant and how does it help to have better strawberries later? Should I do this every year with the plant?

My front lawn is green, however, my backyard lawn has a good deal of brown on it still. My neighbors lawns are currently all green. Last year we had a small portion that was brown so I raked up the dead grass and threw down some grass seed and it was fine a few weeks later.

This year though, I would say like 50% is still brown, I have fertilized and put lime when I was suppose to. Not sure if perhaps I put too much lime and cause damage?
Appreciate any feedback.

My fiance is letting me add a japanese garden to our back yard but my problem is coming across design plans for a tea house.

Alot of the sites I come across either have designs that dont fit my taste or they want you to pay for them before you see them.

Im on for the true style of the japanese garden. Simple and elegant. Are there any sites out there with lots of plans?

Like an old fashioned push mower that doesn't use electricity or gas.

Did you like it? Or was it horrible? I'd like to get one, but it'd probably be horrible on my lawn. We have lots of holes and an uneven lawn.
