The plants the deer did not eat in my yard are Rhododendron, Pieris, Salvia, Russian Sage, Daisies, Black Eyed Susans, Canna Lily, Narcissus, Jonquils...
They ate everthing else like it was a salad bar...even things they supposedly don't eat like Red Tips and Laurels.
We tried EVERYTHING...sprays, hair, marking with urine(HE did that, lol), fish oil.., deer netting... nothing worked .
We now have a 8' deer fence, and that works, but it was expensive to do.

Do a "deer resistant plants" search on Yahoo! Use plants that show up on three or more lists, and add extra credence to lists from your state or neighboring states. White-tail Deer (SE states) like different plants from Mule Deer (Western states). Most importantly, when you first put out the plants that you choose, stink them up real good with the various sprays, predator urine, rotten eggs, Irish Spring soap, what have you, so that those new plants never get on their daily routine. If you can just convince them for a month or two that those new "deer-resistant" plants that you have planted taste terrible, they will probably stay away from them in the long term.

There are a number of deer resistant plants available but you need to understand that deer resistant is not deer proof. They will eat anything if they are hungry enough. Our website has a page on deer resistant plants. You can check it out at-
