It seems you've tried all the surface stuff but have you tried the ones which you actually stick into the anthill? They look like the water feeders hamsters use. They have a long spout and then a bottle reservoir on top. You force the spout into the hill and leave it for a bit.
Also, digging down a bit into them and pouring a Borax solution (usually in a syrup form and then covering usually does a good job.

Jason, you have to get at the source. I know this sounds cruel, but what that means is that you have to put some sort of poison out so the army ants take back to their queen as she is the key to your problem. Most hardware stores sell plastic ant traps that have liquid to put in them. Once you put the trap out where you see many ants, it usually takes @ 4 days for the colony to die.

I use a rocket propelled grenade launcher myself, but the craters are becoming a problem.
Try powdered boric acid. They take it back to the colony and it kills them dead....even better than the afore mentioned RPG.

You can try used coffee grounds (your own or from the local coffe shop-usually free) sprinkle in the mound, rake flat and sprinkle again. I have found this to be a really good deterrent and it is nontoxic. Good Luck!

As long as the EPA does'nt know, the fastest and most lethal way to kill ants and their domain is to pour gasoline or diesel fuel on the ant hill. It is instantaneous!

Pour boiling water on the hill to kill then entire colony. It will also kill the grass right around it at the root, but it will grow back.

It depends on what kind of ants they are. That info would help somewhat. But are you sure they are ants, not termites?
