No - that's an urban legend. The coriolis effect only works on large, macro events (like tropical storm formation, etc.), not small, fast-moving ones like toilet bowl water flushing.

Yes, in the southern hemisphere it does. In the Northern hemisphere it goes counter-clockwise. Has something to do with the earths gravity.

It flushes in the opposite direction it does in the Northern Hemisphere. Has to do with Coriolis(sp?) forces.

It should. Any thing should go the opposite direction in the southern hemisphere. I know that tornadoes to also.
