I am about to redo my back yard and am getting conflicting information. I know it won't work in full shade but the area gets some sun in winter and much more in summer.

The mother of a friend of mine has apple trees in her garden and has grown them for many years. She has even grafted on branches of other species to give more variety (I didn't even know you could do that before I met her!)

Anyway, this year her apples have been terrible. They have all either rotted on the branch, or have been attacked and eaten by various "worms".

What do you recommend she does next year to prevent this from happening again?

I'm looking for a location to shoot a short film of some people planting trees, ideally in a rural or farmland setting. The difficulty I'm having is finding somewhere that will actually let me plant stuff in the actual ground within a 50 mile radius of London. Any ideas?

I mean down here we have always suffered with mosquito's bad, but damn you can't even open your doors without fifty invading your house. I will tell you that if you spray Bengal Dry Powder spray in your house they will die fairly quickly. Me and my husband have said that we haven't even noticed a Mosquito truck spraying this last summer. Where are our tax monies going???
