The citrus trees are a satsuma and naval orange. Both are incredibly overgrown and I've noticed some sooty mold on the leaves and fruit. When is the best time to prune these trees and how much should I prune them without causing harm to the tree itself.

My lawn has many numerous small patches of what appears to be overturned sod. Each area is about 8 feet in diameter and has been completely destroyed with 1" to 3" chunks of sod overturned. I suspect that it is skunks digging for grubs. Can anyone confirm or elaborate on this?

Okay...My husband saids I have a black thumb. I just bought a house with a huge yard and several well established gardens. There are rose bushes, Huge hydrengias, Forshithias, and lots of thing I cant Identify. I wanted to know if I should cut any of these back before the snow starts flying. I am determained to maintain these gardens when the spring comes and I dont want to kill anything. What should I do with all these plants to protect them from the winter? Thanks in advance for the help.
