I use plain white vinegar. Kills weeds, nettles, grass, within hours. Will have to repeat process if they've gone to seed. Also saw on a gardening show you can buy certain foliage killer that you have to "paint on" leaves ie blackberry vines and it will kill them

Spray with a "GLYPHOSATE" based weed killer, round up is an example of this but may be on the expensive side due to its name and the surfactant(what makes it stick t leaves) in it.

You can always buy a cheaper weedkiller with glyph in it and add a bit of detergent.

spray weeds every 2 - 3 weeks.until gone. The seeds will germinate when light appears on the soil after the parent plants have died.

Or spray a product called "SIMIZINE" OFTEN SOLD AS PATH WEEDER ONTO the soil, it kills the plants via the roots rather than via the leaves like glypho and so will kill seeds while they germinate.\

just make sure you are careful where you spray it as you dont want to kill your good plants too

The only sure way is to dig the roots out, but there is a product that might help called "Tumbleweed". You can get this at most garden centres. If that doesn't do it, use neat Domestos on the roots.

Bleach. Oddly enough, I got this info off of an environmental website. Just spray the plant with bleach. It will kill the plant without having to dig it up. They recommended it for killing off poison ivy.

You have to keep digging and digging until you get up all of the roots. If you leave any of the roots in the ground they will regrow and spread.
