It doesn't matter what anyone tells you here. You have to do some research, make a hypothesis, develop and then conduct an experiment, gather your results and make a conclusion. YOUR science project conclusions have to be a result of YOUR experiment.

By the way it would be a good idea if you chose only one variable. Choose either sugar or caffeine. When you use both you cofuse the situation because you may not know whether what you observe was caused by the sugar or by the caffeine, or both. Just a suggestion.

: how does caffine effect plant growth?

Seeds contain all the sugar they
require and after they sprout, can make all the sugar they need via photosynthesis. Sugar lowers the water potential of the solution. The lower the water potential, the less water the seed can absorb. A seed must be able to absorb adequate water in order to germinate and grow.

Based on my knowledge of plant growth hormones, I would expect sugar to
have no direct effect on cell walls. However, it will be a good food
source for bacteria and fungi and thus it will tend to make the plants
susceptible to bacterial and fungal diseases.
Tobacco is very toxic stuff in general. Tobacco leaves contain dozens
of different toxins, many of which could affect your plants in ways that
are very difficult to predict.

probable no longer. vegetation are not getting their sugar that way -- they have an inclination to make their very own. that's what photosynthesis does. it is not going that they might even take up the sugar from the soil. they had merely take up the water and pass away you with candy airborne dirt and airborne dirt and dust.

I've done this project myself. don't use coffee whatever you do! and make sure you keep it away from air fresheners! the two don't mix very well. (actually air fresheners aren't good for the plant in the first place)
