How long before I can ignore it and have my auto sprinkler system take care of it.

When I water sod everyday, is it necessary to lift it up and water the ground below it? Suppose I am watering 10 sq feet with a hose, how long should I water the area?

Can I use Scotts starter for the soil below as fertilizer and Scotts Enriched lawn soil as the soil below? Any experience with these products? They work? Any substitutes?

Any tips when I go to buy sod? Does Home Depot sell it anymore?

I'm interested in finding a detailed resource with pictures of flowers - names and pictures- like "Fire and Ice Rose" rather than red and white rose. I'm putting together wedding flowers.

We have a tree in our front yard that was planted 3 yrs ago, when the house was new. It is about 6 ft tall. It grows new leaves every year, but it hasn't filled out. It is still very sparce. I was wondering it I should trim it, or if I just needed to be patient.

We have noticed several (10-12) what look like ant hills in our mulch bed right under our living room window. I have not seen any insects in or around these "hills", so I do not believe they are regular ants. They look just like ant hills except that the opening is a depression into the mulch about the size of a nickel, and there is no hole to speak of. But it has the pile of fine dirt all around the hill, just like an ant hill. The whole thing is about 3-4 inches in diameter. Anyone have any ideas what may be causing this?

I have bright red mushroom/fungi appearing on my lawn that shrivel at the end of the day. The fungi are spongy, cavernous and have a putrid smell that attracts flys. I live in Miami, have dogs and am afraid of toxicity. I took some good pictures, if anyone is interested or can refer me to someone that is.

I've got a pond that is a little over an acre. It is spring fed and has a windmill powered air pump that introduces air from the bottom of the pond. This pond has sustained a healthly population of various species of fisf for 6 years. Now they are disappearing FAST! When I built the pond I cut the sides steep to prevent herons from feeding because I had seen what they can do to a pond before. I can find no remains for my missing fish, there are no tracks around the pond and I have had the water sampled and tested two different times with good results both times. Where in the hell can my fish be going. I have also set 5 trail cameras around the pond and I have no fishing going on that I don't know about. I have almost no fish left. Aprroximately a quater mile away there is a second pond that is almost identical and it is doing fine. When I had the water sampled I tested both ponds and the results are practically identical. Where in the hell are my fish disappearing to?

The deer are stripping the trees in the fall of the year such as now, and also in the early spring, especially the early buds. I surmise that they have started to run out of things to eat in the forest and are coming to my trees again. I have heard of and used human hair and urine (gross) as a repellent, and tin pans flapping the the breeze, whatever. Any other suggestions?

Hi, this was my first year growing pumpkins and it has not gone well! Despite many many flowers, I only have 2 pumpkins. There were at least 8 that got to the size of a plum before turning brown/ yellow and falling off. Why is this? They were watered through the hot june/ july and august was so wet I didnt need to water. I thought maybe more would appear september time, but no more to be seen. Where did I go wrong?
