They are my favorite, and I know they have a certain name. They are pale purple, and are grown without thorns. I've been searching and I can't seem to find the name. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have 5.5 acres that I'm having clear cut (a lumber company is paying us for our trees). Is there a good kind of meadow grass or anything else I should plant in order to keep it from eroding (it's a valley and part of a ridge/mtn.).?

The fence is different height between the posts - so i am not sure in which area to take the measurements.

The word convex means curving out or bulging outward.

I have two brick raised beds about 2ft high by 4ft sq, in a south facing position.
soil is a mixture of top soil & mulch, drainage is pretty good but does dry out a little in the warmer months of the year.
I am looking to plant these raised beds with somthing that is evergreen & tropical looking, that will not overgrow these areas? The plants must also be able to withstand the rigours of winter & are also very low mantainance. Idealy these would be the only plants grown in these raised beds.

When I was about 9 or 10 years old, my dad said when I was 18, killer bees would invade my state. I'm 16 now, and I've been wondering....is he lying or what? Cause I haven't heard of this on the news or anything. I personally think he's lying. Haha!

I have a wide open space that I'd like to plant a Phoenix Canariensis (aka Phoenix Palm or Canary Island Palm) in. They look like slow growers. How much will it grow per year? I don't want to wait forever to fill out that plot.

I also have Washingtonia Filifera palms (aka Desert Fan Palm) that grow great, about 1 meter/year. But I prefer the Phoenix for the rich crown & space filling.

Both types of palms grow great in our area.
