I am having 3 old half dead willows removed because their dead branches are threatening the neighborhood electric line. What good not-too-tall trees can live in the same conditions? The neighbors told me that the previous owner tried many trees, including river birch, and they all died until the willows.

I've seen internet sites that sell them. Is it wise to buy bonsai trees online? I want a small one (no more than 8" tall). I also need to know how much sunlight I'll need to plan to give it.

Internet sites are good, but please don't just refer me to a bunch of sites! I've surfed the web, and there's so much info that I get overwhelmed and can't tell what applies to me. Specific tips from your personal knowledge/experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have taken good care of my Impatiens, marigolds, petunias and geraniums all summer and given them Miracle Grow and yet they have been very apathetic until now. I notice this goes on year after year.

i was thinking about buying a new snowblower from the local tractor supply company and they have a 8 hp 30" cut with headlite, but last year i used another guys to do the driveway and such, but in a short time with the warmest gloves man could find they still got darn cold a few times, was wondering if a person can buy hot grips to make work on snowblower to keep hands warm, all the ones i find are used for 12 volt operations, and this does not have a battery of course, so is there a good kit somewhere that i can buy to get to work on this snowblower with out destroying something that i should not?
thanks in advance to all that reply =)

My moses-in-the-cradle is outgrowing its current pot and needs to be repotted. I was wondering what potting soil I should use.

Here's an image of the plant: http://www.plant.id.au/database/images/thm_guide_photo_15.jpg

I want to build a concrete yard pond, kidney shaped, and have seen ponds done with no plastic liners. I have seen people use river rock and belgiun blocks then cemented them together, placing bottom stones first, cementing them in , then adding side stones, cementing etc... My question is has anyone done this and how deep does it need to be to prevent solid freezing in winter. I live in Pittsburgh, Pa. Any advice would be appreciated, Thanks!!

I have a mature miniture pine which its spines have started to turn brown towards the trunk outwards. Is this a disease, and if so what can I do to prevent any further damage? Also I have a crab-apple tree; when do I prune it, and from which point on the branches do I start?

My front yard is full and looks great, its just my backyard. I am looking for a cost effective solution. I would rather not bring in landscapers to resod it as its soo expensive. I have tried to reseed the yard - spread a bunch of kentucky blue grass seeds and then water. No results - although the local birds seem really happy about it. I live in the middle of the Mojave Desert. Any suggestions? 10 points to best cost effective solution.

I need help they are out of control :)
