Planting at night could be just fine for you and your plants. I'd watch out about nighttime watering, though. We advocate morning watering whenever possible, as the cooler night temps + wet soil and foliage can produce more trouble with mildews and molds. As the days are probably cooler now, too, the plants will not have much time to dry their foliage.

Plants can be planted anytime day or night. Night planting has an advantage in the the plants get a bit of a start before having to adjust to the day time sun. Just be sure the soil is not overly damp or wet as wet soil will cake on new roots.

simply ok. rather better because the newly replanted one gains enough time to get moisture from the earth and groom roots. They wont last for many days in plastic bags; they can riot. replant them at your earliest ... even in day or at night.

sure, it's okay to plant at night! it would probably be much better for the plants to get out of the bags and stretch their roots, too.
enjoy your moonlight gardening!

MASTER GARDENER TO THE RESCUE
When in school for my MASTERS the only time I had do garden was at night... well not intended that way. You will be surprised what you find out there after dark. Most of my entomology studies were out in the dark after mid-night. Since I needed my hands free for clip board, pen, loop, and clippers, my mouth doubled as a flashlight holder. that lasted only one night. i got a miner's helmet with front lamp so my mouth got a break. as i did my bugs studies i kept coming on things that needed doing along the way, so i did them. the garden takes on a whole new world after dark. it is also more dangerous. be-careful where you put your tools. it's easy to twist an ankle, ouch! another thing to look out for are your neighbors. they see you out there in the dark, they will think you are nuts. (unless they are gardeners in heart) So be careful not to wake up any plants. they need their rest after a hot summer.

sounds like a perfect time to plant. They won't suffer from as much transplant shock as they would during harsh daylight hours. Go for it!

Yes. Just make sure they have plenty of water and have good soil. It's worse to let them sit in their plastic bags.

I see no real reason why not, as long as you can see what you're doing. In fact, it might be easier because the plant is somewhat dormant.
