I have an internal hall way which I would like to brighten up with some plants but it has no natural light - what will stay alive in these conditions?

I find good old spider plants (Chlorophytum) are quite good although I can't say I've tested them in zero natural light, but they seem pretty tolererant of everything else. Just water and feed regularly and they will have babies, then the babies will have babies. Can look quite effective after a while
Or try one of these low light plants (source below): Aspidistra, Tree Philodendron, Fittonia (Silver Net Leaf), Philodendron Scandens (Heart Leaf), Schefflera, Mock Strawberry

You need to do some research on which plants survive in low light conditions. I know bamboo is one of them. You can also purchase grow lights for the plants in the hall way from your local home & garden store.

Can you rotate the plants to another room with some light?
Try Pothos plant. Or if able to switch, even try cyclamen or orchids.
If you can, get double the number you need, and every time you water (or once a week or so) trade them from the lit room to the unlit hallway.

I don't recall the names of the plants but they are long tall wide leaves.

Another kind is the snake plant, it's colorful and hardy but the leaves are thinner and varigated color.

Check with your garden center as if it's too humid indoors you will have a problem growing anything. I can't grow indoors.

Your best bet are ferns, in nature they can grow even in dense shadow, and with a daylight lamp (at least 80W for 10 hrs) they should be happy enough. A friend of mine is doing this successfully,
but she has no idea what kind of fern her plants are. To me they look like ordinary hart's tongues.

generally speaking the darker the leaf, the less sunlight it needs..you could try a cheese plant. monstera. or a fig, or a rubber plant.

Try mushroom, it works without light but its need alittle bit of heat and moisture to grow.
