I have pole barn with a triange box shaped drip edge that is on top of the top layer of block, then sheet metal contiues to the roof overhange. The hornets go up into the groove in the block into the hollow triange shape and bulid nest all the way around my building. Its very hard to use a spraycan to get up the small opening in the triangle shape,I end up with more spray on me.The wand with my pump sprayer seems that it would work great, but I can't find what to make for a mix, that keeps them from attacking me,but kills and maybe helps stop rebuilding the nest.My pump sprayer is 1 gallon and the sealscan handle chemicals.

I have a bathroom window big sized. My brother painted around the sills or whatever you call it, and it's now sealed shut the last 3 hottest months. There is no fan or air conditioning in the bathroom, and he comes over does his #1,2 and the toilet doesn't work, so it's non flushable. This is not his room, and I have told him to unseal the window or break the glass or something for air and told him not to go to the bathroom in there.

Is he sick or crazy. I need help. Who do I call to undo the window?

Do I have to seal the floor first? If so how? If I don't want to go the hassle of sealing, should I choose a glue on tile?

My toilet was not flushing, so we thought it must be stopped up so We took the toilet up from the floor and cleaned it out, well we washed it out and nothing came out. After running a water hose in it for 25 minutes it worked really good while it was still outside. So we bring it back into the house and hook it up, and then I try to flush it and it still doesnt work good. Like sometimes it will flush and other times it wont even flush, seems like one time it flushes then the next time it wont flush. What is wrong with my toilet?

Once i saw a science fair project in at my school. It was a small Pump that was made with a DC motor. It was really small (about two inches long and a inch wide) and it only needed a 3v battery to run.

It was used to pump water from one glass to another glass in the project.

Can anyone tell me how to make one pump like that?

I need to make a one way valve that would allow water or other fluid one way but if there is too much pressure on the opposite side the valve will close and stop water from flowing backward.

Can anyone help?

We have a problem at our church with run off water out of the down spouts of our gutters going over our "new" paved parking lot. We would like to bury some drainage lines in the lawn that are connected to the gutters.

I can't sleep because it is just constantly making it's noises. What is the best way to get this cricket out of a hole in the wall?

I imagine the hole goes back the width of the shower. I know he's back there from his sounds, I can't see him though.

we have a bath which has a raised rim, the shower is above the bath (not the tap end) and when we shower the water pools around this rim against the wall, this is causing the silicon seal to go mouldy and we have to use towls to remove the water. a new bath is out of the question and so is moving the shower due to the layout of the bathroom.
any ideas how to divert the water away from the rim or a product which does this?

Please visit http://img523.imageshack.us/img523/8056/racksfq4.jpg to take a look at the rack I'm constructing. There are 6 racks in total. Each rack has 3 compartments, all hollow. They are made of heavy wood. I need to know what is the best way to support the middle 'bridge' rack? Are screws alone enough to hold it? Do I need vertical pillars or a pipe-like structure across underneath to support it? Any other idea? I need to construct it this way, so please do not suggest other arrangements. I want to put my tv under the 'bridge'.

that could be sold or given away to someone who would really need it or use it? I have watched these shows when they take stuff out of houses just destroy it instead of passing on the good sense to the world about recycling.
Did you notice they also have ugly stuff to say about "This outdated 1950's home will be changed into a sleek new look."
Then the next program says "This home will be changed into a beautiful 1950's look!"
I guess I am just getting old and cranky! But it just seems like all these people on all these shows try to act so 'uppity' or 'with it' or something. What happened to common sense? Where did all the REAL people go?

My mom's deck is old but sturdy (she's renting too)... but I'd like to refinish the deck in exchange for their rent remaining the same for two years....

Before I open my mouth... just how much work am I looking at and where can I rent equipment???...

This is what I found on the internet.... didn't look impossible.

Refinish a deck:

1. Use a hammer to refasten protruding nails.
2. Trim raised edges with a sandpaper block, electric sander, or plane.
3. As needed, clean gray or dirty wood with a solution of 1 cup bleach in a gallon of water. Apply with a brush or broom.
4. Use a pressure washer to clean the deck, being careful not to damage the wood with excessive pressure.
5. Apply stain or wood preservative following the manufacturer's instructions.
6. Apply wood sealer following manufacturer's instructions.
