Someone said I should tape up my feet before vacation. Why?

With all due respect I guess If I were you, I would have asked THEM, WHY?
Obviously stench is an inane answer, but probably thought to be humorous?
With NO real detail given, regarding that "Someone" OR the why of their statement, OR the destination for your vacation, I suspect no real answers here will be very enlightening.

I don't know for sure except it might be a derogatory remark suggesting your feet are ugly and that isn't nice.
