The batons are usually 2" X 1". If its been put up using dabs of "muck" then it can vary from nothing to a couple of inches.

Hi - If the boards are 'dot and dabbed' to a breeze block wall (fixed to the blocks with dabs of adhesive, this is referred to as 'dry-lining'), this will depend on the quality of the blockwork and how vertical it is. Assuming average blockwork, the GAP would/should be 5-15mm.

i presume you mean what do you use for dot and dab to fix plasterboard to wall you use a dot and dab adhesive it mixes just like plaster you dot the platerboard about every two square feet and then dab the board on the wall then use a straight edge to get the board level
