If you want paint to stick to laminate, you need to do the right kind of prep. First, sand it lightly with 220 sandpaper. The fine scratches help the paint to adhere. Sand in one direction -- across the drawer fronts, up and down on the sides, etc. Don't just sand randomly.

The next thing is to give the dresser a coat of primer that's made to improve adhesion. Some brands I know of are Kilz and Bulls-Eye. You can ask at a paint store or in the paint department of a store like Home Depot. If it's a strongly-adhering primer, it will say on the label that it adheres well to chalky or glossy surfaces.

After you do those two things, your paint will stick like mad. Kilz and Bulls-Eye even stick to glass.

sand paper to scratch the surface so the paint has something to stick to. after sanding wipe clean with damp cloth let dry primer then paint. i used kilz primer then cabinet & furniture paint. my dresser came out great.

you have to make the surface rough for the paint to stick. try prepping it with sand paper first.
