My laundry room only has one 120v Socket, and that is being used by the Washing machine. There is also, a 220v (30a) dryer socket that was used by the old (now dead) dryer. Besides returning the new dryer, what options are available? I was thinking about replacing the existing 30A circuit breaker with two circuit breakers one 10 and one 20 only hooking up the 20. Then replacing the 220v dryer socket with a standard 120 socket. Anyone got any ideas?

I would like to get rid of my light fixture in one of my rooms, and replace it with 5-10 halogen lights in the ceiling, how much would it cost to get this done professionally?

I wouldn't mind trying to install it but I Wouldnt' have a clue about how to connect the lights up to the electrics in the house!

thanks all

Hi
I am having a wedding coming up and the hall I rented does not have a dance floor. I am seeing if I would be able to make one myself. Does anyone know exactly what i need (type of wood, polish,...) and how to make it?
Thanks

Additional Details

I also inquired about renting a dance floor from various companies, but I'd much rather build one so I can also use it when other family members of mine get married

Hi. I took 3 years of shop class back when I was in high school...I really like to build things such as cabinets, desks, etc. The bad thing is, now I live in an apartment...in other words, no tools. Are there places where you can pay to use other people's equipment? Or would there just be too much liability involved in that sort of venture? If I was still living back home I'm sure my old HS would let me use the shop after hours...but unfortunately I moved 1000 miles away for college and also don't know anyone down here w a good garage, either. I would really like to get to use my hands more and build some custom furniture and accessories. Any suggestions? Other than the obvious of moving into a house and buying thousands worth of equipment ;-)

Now and again I like to pose a slightly daft question for a bit of fun. However. I very often get heckled by people who have no sence of humour and take things far too seriously. They usually ,are very high in the ratings and cannot be contacted. One of them doesn't even ask questions so that she can get as many points as possible, (life is more than points on a website!) 'WELL I SAY UP YOURS' and if you don't like it keep away from my questions as they are clearly not for you. OH and get a life.

I'm sanding me guitar, there's a couple of spots that stay rough and a little whiter from the rest of the guitar. I'm sanding with a rubber sanding block with 120 grit paper, do I just keep sanding like normal or just worry about it when I start the 220 grit.

I've looked at a few sites. They don't offer any decent patterns. I'd like to make a beaded curtain with a cute pattern on it for my boyfriend, as one of those silly gifts. I don't have a credit card, either, so buying one online is not an option at the moment. I'm sure there are some free online patterns out there somewhere... I just can't find them.
:(
Any help would be appreciated.

I want to put down peel/stick vinyl tiles in my kitchen and bathroom. Both rooms have Vinyl flooring now and it's not damaged in anyway I just hate the colors. Can I put the peel/stick tiles on top of the existing floor or do I have to pull it up? Also should I use some sort of glue to add extra holding and will this kind of floor last or will it start peeling up in a few months?

It's got a 4 inch diameter exhaust with a 3 inch hole in the wall. It's connected to the wall via a fashioned metal funnel and some flexible metal tubing.

I know that the exhaust probably can help get moisture away faster, but I feel like it doesnt get hot enough. I used a digital thermometer along with the shoe-drying rack to test how hot the dryer got on HIGH, and it made it up to 114 degrees F in about 15 minutes.

I definitely hear the internal furnace turning on.

This is a new sears kenmore dryer.

I talked a friend into letting me remove his leg, and now I can't get it to go back on properly as his body keeps rejecting it. I have tried to calm him down, but he say's that he dosen't want to be my friend anymore. What should I do?
