Never, Never, Never!!!!! pour gas or oil on any part of your lawn not only will you kill the plant you want gone, but every thing else in the area, and nothing else will grow there for YEARS.

If you are on a fixed budget and want to be ecologically friendly use strait liquid bleach, it will kill off the plants but after a few days and a good watering it breaks down and there is nothing left to hurt new plants or anything else that will be in the area.

After you cut them down use a battery operated drill with a 3/8" bit and drill a hole about 3" deep in the largest stump of each plant. Remove the drill and bit, then fill the hole with undiluted Roundup. You will never see a friggin fig again!
